The “Coming Generation Kohima” is a stall run by young upcoming entrepreneurs at Bamboo Pavilion, Kisama with its products tagged “Nagaland says no to plastic”.

It was an innovative idea initiated by the young upcoming generation with an intended vision to use other perishable and degradable items instead of plastic bags.

The main purpose of setting up stall at this festive season in line with the Hornbill festival is to do away with the use of plastic bags and other non-degradable items which we often discard after use.  It is also to promote and encourage use of degradable items which in turn make our environment eco-friendly and free from soil, water and air pollution.

The products displayed at the stall are made of coconut and betel leaves. Cloth bags, spoons, fork, paper bags etc are available at the stall for sale. This venture will continue as an annual event coinciding with the Hornbill festival, Assistant Project Coordinator, Wawe-ii Kenye said.
