CHIEF MINISTER LAUNCHES GPS MAPING OF GOVT SCHOOLS
The GPS Mapping of all Government Schools and the Personnel Location System (PLS) was launched by the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio on the 5th November 2018, in a significant step towards computerization and digitization of records by the School Education Department. While congratulating the Department for the exercise undertaken, the Chief Minister was of the view that, the Department should keep Visitors’ Book in all schools so that, visiting or inspecting officials and also dignitaries place their visits or inspection reports on record which can be digitised to be viewed by MLAs concerned and be aware of the status of schools within their respective constituencies.
Presently, the GPS & PLS information which can be accessed online through http://.dose-ngl.com has the GPS coordinates of all the schools pinned and marked on Google Maps, with other information like enrolment, facilities such as number of classrooms, power & water connection availability, playground, toilets etc., besides the details of teaching and non teaching staff with pictures of the staff posted in the particular school, the bona fide information that was established after the Department conducted physical verification of all staff. It is envisaged that this information on public domain, which may perhaps be a first in the country, will facilitate in departmental information being made more accessible to the public. The Department while ensuring all efforts to see that the information provided is complete, up to date and accurate, any input from the public through the facility provided in the form of a comment module in the website will be appreciated.
GOVERNOR TO GRACE PEOPLE’S FESTIVAL KHEZHAKENO 2018 TO BE HELD
People’s Festival Khezhakeno 2018 cum inauguration of Chida resort will be held on 10th November 2018 at Khezhakeno village (Zhipfhe Tazao), Phek District Nagaland. The event is organized by Khezhakeno Youth Organization and the event will be graced by Governor PB Acharya. The program will be chaired by Additonal Secretary, Kevekha Kevin Zehol NCS and brief account of the festival will be presented by President Tenyimia Public Organization Timikha Koza.
SENSITIZATION PROGRAM ON MARKET-LED EXTENSION CUM SALES DAY HELD AT KOHIMA
Sensitization program on market -led extension cum sales day was held on 6th November 2018 organized by Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) Kohima under Nagaland state agriculture marketing Board (NSAMB) in collaboration with Directorate of Sericulture, Directorate of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources at Local Ground Kohima
Speaking at the inaugural function, KMC Administrator, Kovi Meyase encouraged the farmers to produce more organic crops for a safe and healthy life. He also urged the vegetable vendors to avoid sales on any foot paths in Kohima.
Asst. Chief Technical Officer, KVK Kohima also highlighted on the Market – Led Extension for better practices of farming, to make use of information technology and how to promote value added crops.
Altogether 18 villages under Kohima district participated at the programme where various crops competition was also held and the winners were awarded with cash prize along with certificates in various category.

MEDICAL MINISTER FLAGS OFF SWASTH BHARAT YATRA TO DIMAPUR
Minster of Health & Family Welfare S.Pangnyu Phom flagged off the swasth bharat yatra cyclists to Dimapur from War Cemetery, Kohima on 6th November 2018.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the main objective of the Yatra and Mela is to give out a strong message of consumer awareness on food safety from raw materials to finished products, food processing, transportation storage handling, packaging, distribution. He added that the event is an appreciable concept with focus on nudging the citizens to “Eat Right” for better health and wellbeing. He further wished the participants/ Cyclist in achieving the goal of disseminating the message of “Eat Right India” Movement through the mela.
Chandrika was the Master of ceremony and led the pledge of Eat Right India. 25 cyclist from Kohima out of which15 are girls and 10 boys all from NCC Cadet. Assam Rifles Piper Band also participated in the programme. Kohima cyclists will hand over the baton to the cyclist in Dimapur who will further hand over the Swasth Bharat Yatra Baton to Assam team in Diphu.
DISTRICT LEVEL CO-ORDINATION COMMITTEE MEETING ON NATIONAL TOBACCO CONTROL AT PEREN
District Level Co-ordination committee meeting on National Tobacco Control programme was held on 6th November 2018 at DC’s Conference Hall New DC Complex Peren under the Chairmanship of S. Tainiu Chairman District Level Co-Ordination committee and DC Peren.
Keynote address was delivered by Dr. Sabino District Nodal officer NTCP Peren. The members discussed on agenda including information to the public regarding Tobacco Control Act. Enforcement drive under COTPA (cigarettes and other Tobacco products Act 2003. Implementation of Tobacco free educational institutions, villages and Government office.
Dr. Sabino in her keynote address mentioned that 17 people availed tobacco control guidelines who are willing to give up tobacco in 2018. DLCC members resolved to give their best for the successful implementation of National Tobacco Control programme in the District with the induction of more members to cover all blocks and Towns in the District. Vote of thanks was delivered by Adaule DEO.
PEREN DPDB MEETING HELD
The District Planning and Development Board Peren was held on 6th November 2018 at DC’s Conference Hall, District Hq Peren, under the Chairmanship of Vice-Chairman DPDB and DC Peren, S. Tainiu.
At the outset S.Tainiu congratulated all heads of offices for their contributions and support in making the recently concluded Mini Hornbill festival celebration a successful one which was the first of its kind in the district. DPDB meeting approved the following: Opening of Yettrang Academy Nagaland at Ahthibung; upgradation of GMS to GHS Khelma; upgradation of CHC Jalukie to 50 bedded. Lack of manpower in SBI branch Tening was discussed and the board after lengthy deliberations recommended for early posting of subordinate staffs to fully function the branch to provide banking facilities to the remote areas. Paper presentations were given by Kiengau Nda BDO Jalukie on behalf of District Rural Development Agency Peren.
SDO (C) JAKHAMA CONVENES MEETING FOR HORNBILL FESTIVAL
A meeting was convened by SDO(C) Jakhama, Alemyapang Longchar at SDO(C) office Jakhama on 6th November, 2018 to discuss the works and activities to be undertaken by the Southern Angami area during the Hornbill Festival. The meeting was attended by Village Council Chairman, village representatives, DB’s and GB’s.
While chairing the meeting the SDO informed that two events will be included in this year Hornbill festival. Night Carnival will be held at Kigwema Local Ground from 4p.m to 8p.m daily during the festival. Folk songs and folk dance will be presented and indigenous food and handicrafts will also be available during the night carnival. It will be organised by the Kigwema Youth Organisation.
On 6th December, 2018 Sekrenyi festival will be celebrated at Jakhama village which will be organised by the Southern Angami area Dobashi and Gaon Buda.
The meeting also decided to direct all shops along the National Highway from Phesama to Khuzama to paint their shops and fix a light bulb outside their shop. All the villages under Jakhama sub division have also decided to provide atleast 10 volunteers from each village to guide and provide hospitality to tourists during the festival.
Longchar requested all the village under the Jakhama sub division to co-operate and commented that the Hornbill Festival has become a window to Nagaland for the outside world. The Village authorities and representatives have assured to give their full co-operation to make the Hornbill Festival, 2018 a success.

VAHAN 4.0 LAUNCHED AT TUENSANG
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tuensang, L. Jamithung Lotha officially launched the programme of the Vahan 4.0 Services for Tuensang District at an event held at Office of the District Transport Officer, Tuensang on 5th November 2018. While Launching ‘Vahan 4.0’ Deputy Commissioner, said that this service will save applicants from long hours of waiting and numerous visits for the registering and licensing Office as one can now apply online. Expressing gratitude he thanked the NIC Transport division Kohima for their tireless efforts. He further appealed to the concern officers to make the general public aware of the service, to improve the application through workshops, seminars and even involving stakeholders and government providing its essential resources.
During the introduction of the Vahan 4.0 Sr. Programmer, NIC, Transport division from Kohima, Imna Longkumer highlighted on the objectives of the Vahan 4.0.
Earlier in the programme, the welcome address was delivered by Sr. HA from DTO office, Tuensang M. Akhumba Chang and the programme was led by Manhei, LDA. The meeting ended with vote of thanks by Motor Vehicle Officer, Tuensang.
NAGALAND GOVERNOR B.P.ACHARYA TO GRACE AMUR FALCON CONSERVATION WEEK
The department of Tourism and Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change is organising three days Amur Falcon conservation week at Doyang PROJECT SITE, NEEPCO Wokha from 8th to 10th November 2018.
State Governor B.P.Acharya will grace the conservation week on 9th Nov 2018. Highlights of the three days programme include Zip-line thrill to have an aerial view of the picturesque of
Doyang Hydro Project landscape, zorbing, boating, angling, camping and Lotha cuisine such as
fresh Doyang fish and organic vegetables.
The District Administration Wokha in collaboration with Department of Tourism and Department of Environment, Forest and Climate Change cordially invites all the general public to come and witness the first Amur Falcon Conservation Week.

MEETING ON PREPARATION OF HORNBILL FESTIVAL 2018 HELD AT KOHIMA
The Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS held a meeting with the concerned departments, Police, district administration, village councils, youth organisations and stalkholders for the Preparation of Hornbill 2018 was held on 5th November 2018 at DC Conference hall Kohima.
Deliberating on the status of roads in and around Kohima, DC Kohima Rajesh Soundararajan IAS has requested the concerned Departments to complete maintenance works latest by 20th November 2018 and asked them to provide continuous status updates. He further reminded the optical fiber, cables and wires along the highway to keep in a proper way. He also informed that separate meetings for security coordination and traffic management would be convened soon. He further called upon the KCCI implementation of ‘plastic free zone’ at Kisama and the entire stretch of night carnival. He also asked the shopkeepers along the national highway starting from Kohima till Khuzama to paint the shops and shutters.
Senior SP Kohima, Vekhosa Chakesang informed that tourist police would also be deployed for the safety and security of the tourist during the hornbill festival, starting from 1st December and five days of training for the tourist police is scheduled in mid November, to be conducted by the Nagaland police and Tourism department. The SP also sought cooperation of the Assam Rifles, other paramilitary forces and the general public.
Chief Manager of SBI alsO informed that mobile ATMs will be taken care at Kisama and assured to ensure that ATMs are supplied with sufficient cash during the festival not only at the main venue but in the Kohima Capital for 24 hours.
Official from Power department also informed that the Department have started working towards providing efficient street lighting and stable power supply during the Hornbill.
The Kohima Chambers of commerce and industries requested the concerned departments to ensure sufficient street lights are installed for smooth activities of night carnival in Kohima.
