RELOCATED JALUKIE POLICE STATION BULIDING INAUGURATED
Inaugural programme of the re-location of Jalukie Women Police Station building was held on 5th August, 2019 at Jalukie Police Station. The programme was organized by DEF Peren and was attended by DGP, Nagaland, SP Peren, other dignitaries and public leaders.
Deputy General of Police, Nagaland, T. John Longkumer, IPS who inaugurated the women police station building acknowledged the community for their co-operation and their constant support in maintaining law and order. He stated that Jalukie is a wonderful town which has got a lot of potentials and development is taking place at a very faster rate. He asserted that the main focus of the Police Force is community policing in-order to give safety and security to not only the residents of Jalukie town and also to its adjoining villages.
Longkumer also stated that development will not happen without security and therefore said that development & security should go hand in hand. In addition, he mentioned that women police force would also be given financial help in the best possible way and encouraged the women police force to provide a healing touch to all the needy ones. Furthermore, he encouraged the women youths to be a part of this Special Task Force (STF) whose main motive is to specialize what is happening within the locality and also made an announcement that 33% reservation seats has also been reserved for Women Police Force in Nagaland and also challenged the energetic women youths to come forward to expose their mental ability and physical fitness and also gave an assurance that transparency would be maintained during the recruitment. Later, he urged the un-uniformed personals to collectively work together with the women police force.
The programme was chaired by Addl. SP, Peren, Limaakum T. Jamir, welcome address was delivered by SSP Peren, Videlalie Zashu, IPS, special number was presented by Symphony of Grace Band. Vote of thanks was delivered by Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Peren, Vikato Thonger.

CHILD RIGHTS & PROTECTION AWARENESS PROGRAMME HELD AT SHOIXE VILLAGE ZUNHEBOTO
The District Child Protection Unit under the Department of Social Welfare Nagaland conducted an awareness programme on Child Rights and Protection at Shoixe Village Zunheboto on 5th August 2019.
The resource person of the programme was J Khetoholi Yepthomi, Legal cum Probation Officer DCPU, Zunheboto, she spoke on child rights and protection and POSCO Act.
Ruzonuo Rita Rutsa, DCPO Zunheboto deliberated the participants on different services and protection mechanisms available for children in the district.
Kito Ayemi, Protection Officer, Zunheboto highlighted on the roles and functions of village level child protection committee.
The DCPO further appealed the VLCPC to identify children at risk so that they could avail the services available for the betterment of the children’s future.
GA REST HOUSE INAUGURATED AT CHANGTONGYA TOWN
Inaugural programme of GA rest house at Changtongya Town & multipurpose Hall Funded under the minister of Tribal Affairs during 2018-19 at Yaongyimsen village was held on 1st August 2019 which was inaugurated by Advisor Industries & Commerce, Labour & Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Imnatiba.
He also unveiled the plaque of the GA rest house. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that the purpose of the rest house is to provide shelter to the guest and appealed to the concern department to make the best use of the guest house, so as to benefit all, and also to maintain the rest house.
The program was chaired by SDO (C) Changtongya, Moakumzuk Tzudir. Technical report was presented by Er. Sungtiba America EE CAWD. Short speeches were delivered by ADC, Commissioner’s office Kohima, Limanenla; Head G.B Changtongya Town, Imkongsowa and Tali Contractor. Vote of thanks was delivered by Rajesh Soundararajan IAS Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung.
The inaugural programme of the multipurpose hall at Yaongyimsen village was chaired by Sentila Sanglier. Associate pastor women. Speaking at the programme Imnatiba thanked the landowner for their contribution in construction of the multipurpose hall, which will benefit the villagers. He also said that through the schemes and the development activities comes from the government, the villagers are responsible for the proper implementations and to carry out all the activities.
Speeches were also delivered by Riongsanger Putu. Yaongyimsen village, Kosasanger Putu Changtongya village and Yim Lanur Yaongyimsen village. Welcome speech and vote of thanks were delivered by Imlilepzuk G.B Signal Angami Dimapur and by Latong Imson president Yaongyimsen union Dimapur.
MOKOKCHUNG DPDB POSTPONED
Addl. Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, Manpai Phom hereby inform DPDB members of Mokokchung that scheduled meeting of the DPDB Mokokchung for the month of August 2019 has been postponed till the date and time which will be notified later on accordingly.
SKK OBSERVES SUMI PATRIOTS DAY
The All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) observed Sumi Patriots Day on 4th August 2019 at Sumi Patriots Monolith, Zunheboto in commemoration of Sumis patriots who undertook hardship and struggles till their last breath, sacrificing their precious life for the cause of the Naga Freedom Movement.
Sumi Patriots day is observed on every 4th of August on the death Anniversary of Late General Kaito Sukhai Sema, First Commander-in-Chief Naga Army and World youngest General.
Atokiho Sumi President, All Sumi Students Union (SKK) addressing the historic event said that while honoring thousands of lives who have sacrificed their precious lives for the National cause called upon the Naga National Movement groups to work in the true spirit for the cause of the Naga Nation and not on selfish vested interest. He also urged Government of India to resolve the long protracted Indo-Naga Political Issue at the earliest.
The programme was chaired by Lilly Chishi Women Co-ordinator SKK and short speech was delivered by Nihovi Chophi GB, President Zunheboto GBS Association. Vikato Yeptho, Convenor Alahuto Prayer Fellowship Zunheboto administered special prayer for the patriots who rendered selfless sacrifice for the Naga National movement.
SOIL & WATER CONSERVATION DEPARTMENT OFFICIALS ATTEND EC MEETING
The departmental officials of Soil & Water Conservation Department attended EC meeting of the Tribal Sub Plan Scheme under Science for Equity, Empowerment & Development (SEED), organised by the Institute of Advanced Study in Science and Technology (IASST), Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India that was held on 1st & 2nd August, 2019.
During the session, the department presented a project proposal on “Low Cost Weather Station”, at the “Centre of Exellence- State Soil & Water Conservation Training and Research, Sechu” for the benefit of tribal farming communities of the surrounding villages practicing both permanent pani kheti as well as traditional agroforestry kheti.
The proposal is based on judicious, efficient and effective land use practices and adaptation of various practices in the climate change scenario. The proposal includes installation of two LCWS each for each village, one in the upper and the other in the lower reaches to provide meteorological information online basis and in return provide immediate advisory SMS information to the farming communities.
This pilot project is being muted to be replicated in other watersheds covering the entire districts of the state especially in the Jhum khetis including abundant fallow jhum fields where the farmers are expected to practice agroforestry kheti.
It was presented in the presence of accreditate commisisioning scientists and experts from various fields, including some having immense knowledge on various traditional, indigenous and endemic farming practices of the North East of India, which they claimed to be the repository wisdom of this region that will be benefical to disseminate these sciences to other fields/villages/ region across the world.
The proposal was briefed by the Jt. Director & designate OSD, Soil & Water Conservation, K. Khekiho Shohe.
STATE LEVEL TRAINING ON MANAGEMENT OF FLOWERS AND VEGETABLE
Department of Horticulture will be organizing a two day state level training on cultivation and management of flowers and vegetable under protected condition at the conference hall from 9.30 am on 8 and 9th August 2019.
Saveer biotech limited Delhi and Meghastar Ago Horti Pvt Ltd Guwahati will be the resource persons for the training.
ADC TSEMINYU NOTIFIES ON MASS SOCIAL WORK
ADC Tseminyu, Nokchasashi has stated that with regard to forth coming Independence celebration to be held at Tseminyu on 15th August 2019, a mass social work will be conducted at Tseminyu town on 9th August, starting from 8:00 onwards during which public roads, footpaths, drains and common open spaces will be properly cleaned.
In this connection ADC Tseminyu informed that all the government servant and a person per household should participate in the mass social work, failing which one day wages for government officials will be deducted, where a sum of Rs.200/- will be fine for public.
In his office letter, ADC also requested the public Tseminyu to clean up their house compounds before the day of mass social work.
THEATRE WORKSHOP AT ZUNHEBOTO
The 15 days long production oriented theatre workshop organized by NEZCC in collaboration with Zoe Theatre School of Ministry and Step By Step School concluded with a programme hosted by Step by Step school on 31st July 2019. The function was chaired by V. Uto Chishi with a short speech by special guest Tokavi Swu President ANPSA (ZBTO).
Three schools participated in show, namely, Corner Stone Hr Sec School, Olympic Hr Sec School and Step By Step School displaying a short play “True Happiness”. The duration of the play was 45 minutes where all together 20 participants took part including 12 boys and 8 girls.
The concluding remark was given by V. Uto Chishi where he congratulated all the participants and gave a special thanks to all the participating schools for making the programme a grand success.
MASS RALLY ON MURDER OF A WOMAN
A mass rally against the murder of a 19 years old woman identified as Mrs. Paugumcule, a resident of Punglwa Village was held on 5th August, 2019. The rally was organized by Northern Zeme Organizations.
The rally started from Punglwa B junction till Heningkunglwa police out post about 8-9 km which was attended by 7 Northern Zeme villages and all the women folk and youths from 7 Northern Zeme Village.
Memorandum was also submitted to the EAC Headquarter Ngwalwa circle on behalf of DC and was read out by the NZWO Advisor Iliacangle.
The rally was attended by different organizations including Zeme Mipui Organization, Zeme Council, Zeliangrong Baudi, Northern Zeme Youth Organization and Northern Zeme Council.

FINANCIAL LITERACY EXAMINATION FOR CLASS IX & X POSTPONED
The Nagaland Board of School Education has notified that the examination for Financial Literacy Class IX & X which was to be held tentatively on 10th August 2019 is postponed to a later date. The schools offering Financial Literacy course are informed to note the following:
- The examination will be conducted on 30th August 2019 from 9.30 am to 11.30 am (2 hours duration).
- The question paper will consist of 100 Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) carrying 1 mark each.
- Full marks for the examination is 100 marks and the pass mark is 40.
- The result must be submitted to the Board on or before 10th September 2019.
- Schools should collect the Question paper from the designated centre school on 27th August 2019.
- Schools under Kohima district should collect the Question Papers from the Board’s Office on 28th August 2019 during Office hours.
The Confidential packet of Financial Literacy shall be issued only to the head of institutions or duly authorized official.

DC TUENSANG NOTIFIES
DC & DEO, Tuensang, Mohammed Ali Shihab, IAS has informed all concerned that the Special Revision of Photo Electoral Roll with reference to 01-01-2020 as the qualifying date, has been announced by the Election Commission of India Vide letter No.23/2019-ERS (Vol-III) dated 25th July 2019, with various activities as follows:-
Improvement of health of Electoral Roll in campaign mode:- (a) Removal of DSEs, logical errors, checking of photo quality of elector
(b) Electors Verification Programme(EVP) in a campaign mode with the help of SVEEP, during the programme, the citizens may be encourage to come forward and authenticate existing elector’s details relating thereto giving copy of one of the following documents:-1. Indian passport.
2. Driving license. 3. Aadhar. 4. Ration card. 5. Any other document as approved by the Commission.
(c). The citizens will verify their electoral details through ” Voter helpline” mobile app, NVSP portal by visiting Common Service Centres (CSCs) or submitting a hard copy of filed up forms through BLOs to EROs
(d) Information of un-enrolled citizens/dead/shifted electors etc, to be collected through crowd sourcing. The citizens will give the details through above mentioned sources.
