            As a part of the Green Initiative Program of Kohima Forest Division, the Plastic Free School Program was launched on 2nd November 2018 at Tseminyu in presence of Supongnukshi  IFS,CCF as Special Invitee. Government Higher Secondary School Tseminyu and Baptist Higher Secondary School Tseminyu were declared as Plastic Free under the program. Rongsenlemla Imchen IFS DFO Kohima thanked the school for their active participation and highlighted on the importance of the role of students in fighting plastic pollution and cutting down plastic footprint. Special Invitee, Supongnukshi IFS appreciated the efforts of the schools in green activities and encouraged the gathering to rise above the abusive use of plastic by practicing the concept of refuse, reduce, reuse and recycle. The school authorities thanked the forest department for the initiative and assured full cooperation to the department to pursue their green actions. The schools made plastic free commitments by reading the pledge led by Pezaneinuo Ranger. Jweni Semp Ranger Tseminyu proposed the vote of thanks. To mark the occasion, Eco Friendly Waste Bins, copies of pledges and Plastic free signage were distributed to the two schools by the department. The Green Initiative Program was started in April 2018 covering two components viz Green Future Nursery and Plastic Free program that focuses on schools dedicated to conservation activities.

            The 24th edition of classic club football tournament was inaugurated by MLA and Former Speaker Chotisuh Sazo on 2nd November 2018 at Khuochiezie Local Ground Kohima

            Addressing at the event, MLA and Former Speaker NLA Chotisuh stated that football needs to be promoted at the grassroots drawing the players from every sports club. He requested the young players to play good football and exhibit their skills so that they can be the future of the sports in the state. He added that the many good players have been produced through the classic club cup. He also encouraged the participating teams that in any field, to become a professional or expert needs patience, discipline and hard training. Stating that Naga youth have got more potential such as softball, sepaktakraw, riffle shooting, archery etc. and  urged them to exhibit their talent, make new friend, love and respect each other through sports to live it up to make t6he world a better place to live in. He appreciated the Classic Club for organizing the event to promote the young talents in the state

            Delivering a welcome speech, President Classic Club, K. Neibou Sekhose said that 96% of the people in the world participate in sports or are avid fans. Adding that sports is one of the few activities that bring people together irrespective of color, race, language, religion, age and gender where football was the most watch  sports in the world and it is the house name in Nagaland. He also shared that a yearlong celebration of the Classic Club Silver Jubilee has begin from 2nd October 2018 which is to be culminated on the final of the 25TH Classic Cup 2019. He announced that a cash prize of Champion would be rewarded with Rs. 1.00 Lac along with Trophy and certificate and Runners up with Rs. 80, 000, Trophy and certificate.

         The function was compered by Dr. Rukulu K. Puro, invocation by Dziesetuo Soukhrie, Pastor, CRCK Kohima, Special song performed by Kekhrie Ringa.

            The Deputy Commissioner, Longleng John Tsulise Sangtam has informed to all the land owners Governmental/Non-Governmental agencies and other interested parties that land for construction of 2 – Laning Merangkong – Tamlu – Mon road (100 Kms) under phase ‘A’ of SARDP – NE in the state of Nagaland, Package – 1 (Design Chainage 10.70 to 20.00 Kms) and Package – II (Design Chainage 20.00 to 40.00 Kms) under longleng District Acquired under section 9(1)(2) of the Nagaland Land Requisition and Acquisition Act 1965 and ready for payment of compensation for the properties to be damaged as notified vide dated 25th October 2018. All payment shall be credited directly to the accounts of the beneficiaries/owners within 3 (Three) days from today

Therefore, all concerned are directed to clear up/vacate the acquired land, of the buildings or plantations, fisheries or any other structures within the compensated or to be compensated area within one month from the date of issue of this notice.

It is to be noted that after the expiry of the notified date, the acquired land will be taken in possession by the National Highways And Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), MoRTH for construction of 2-Laning of Merangkong-Tamlu-Mon road (SARDP-NE) immediately without any further notice. This notice is issued for strict compliance by all concerned.

            In pursuance of Central Vigilance Commission’s guidelines Vigilance Awareness Week-2018 was observed in NEC from 29th Oct to 3rd Nov 2018 with much enthusiasm and focus on the theme ‘Eradicate Corruption – Build a New India’. A slew of programmes have been rolled out to mark the celebration of Vigilance Awareness Week 2018 starting from pledge taking to Essay writing, Cartoon making and poster competition.

            Awareness Week concluded with a valedictory function with the talk from the dignitaries and the felicitation program of all the winners of various events at NEC. Speaking on the occasion, Prof B.K. Dutta, Member, NEC congratulated NEC staff for their active participation and commended the effort of the kids of the staff members who participated in the various competitions. Among others C.H. Kharshiing, Planning Adviser, NEC, Shri W. Synrem, Economic Adviser (E&M), NEC, Shri Navin Kumar, Adviser (T&C), and the employees were present. The program evoked lot of interest from the staff and was widely appreciated.
