MON DPDB MEETING HELD
Mon District Planning Development Board meeting for the month of June 2019 was held on 15th June 2019 at DC’s Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Pohwang Konyak DPDB Chairman & Advisor Fire & Emergency Services, SIRD, and Relief & Rehabilitation.
In Nagaland there is no wine stores but many people are consuming liquor where the nagas are spending more than 25 crores in a year for buying liquors to other states, Pohwang Konyak stated during the meeting.
He requested the members to check and verify departments regarding schemes and construction in the district and give clearance certificates only if found completed. Pohwang Konyak invited all the members to bring departmental problems, difficulties and pending issues so that the board can take up the matters. He also asked the members to be regular and called upon the officials posted in the district to be sincere and honest while performing their duties.
During the meeting, the house approved and recommended creation of Tapi Block under the Department of Rural Development, Renaming of Government Higher Secondary School Mon ‘D’ to Khaopa Higher Secondary School, Mon and Registration of Genesis Project at Tobu.
ADC Mon, Hiazu Meru requested all the officials who are posted at Mon district to start innovative works and appeal to start something change in the district. He also requested the departments to submit departmental activities including local needs in the district.
Dr.Shasinle Tep, DPO (UIP/RCH) CMO Office, Mon gave a presentation on the topic, ‘Rotavirus Vaccine – introduction’.

MON DPDB CONDOLES OFFICER’S DEMISE
Chairman DPDB, Mon & Advisor Pohwang Konyak Advisor Fire & Emergency Services, SIRD, and Relief & Rehabilitation expressed his sadness for the sudden demise of Late. Imnasangba, SDO (PHED) Mon who was a member of DPDB, Mon during the DPDB meeting on 15th June 2019 at DC Conference Hall, Mon.
ADC Mon Hq, Hiazu Meru stated that, late Imnasangba SDO (PHED) Mon who was known for his sincerity, honesty and hard working official among the members and good with his subordinates. He started his career as SO in February 1985 at Mon. For 23 years he served in all the Sub-Divisions of Mon District where only for a period of 3 years from 2009-2011, he was posted at Dimapur. In 2011, on his promotion to SDO where he was posted back to Mon till date.
With his untimely demise on 14th June 2019, Mon District and DPDB Mon has lost an important member. The board conveyed solace to the bereaved family and to the departed soul rest in peace.
In honouring to the departed member, all the DPDB board members stood up for one minute silence prayer before the DPDB meeting starts.

WOKHA POLICE ORGANIZE PAPER BAG MAKING TRAINING
Wokha Police in collaboration with Team Metamorphosis and Self Help Group (SHG) organized a one day training on paper bags making on 14th June 2019 at DEF, Wokha Unit drill shed. SDPO, Wokha Imkongsangba in his introductory speech welcomed all participant and stressed on the need for a plastic free environment. SP, Wokha Manoj Kumar, IPS, shared on the threat posed due to plastic pollution and steps initiated by the Unit for a plastic free “Police Reserve”. He also informed that more awareness programme will be initiated by organizing literary competition.
Oreno Ngullie from Team Metamorphosis, Nyanbeni & Saroni representing Self Help Group were the master trainers. The one day training was organized for the spouse of Unit Personnel and students of Regimental School, DEF Wokha. Around 78 persons participated in the training. The incitation was to support the Government policy to restrict the use of plastic. (Zuben, IA, Wokha)
POSHAN ABHIYAN MISSION AT MEDZIPHEMA
A meeting on Poshan Abhiyan Mission, a holistic scheme for nutrition was held at the office of ADC, Medziphema at June 14th 2019. The meeting was chaired by EAC Medziphema Sentilong Ozukum. CDPO Medziphema I. Tsungrosongla Ao, explained on the importance of Poshan Abhiyan, its focus on adolescent girls, pregnant women, lactating mothers and children from 0-6 years of age for an overall development.
To raise awareness to the community, the meeting consisting of all Poshan Abhiyan members had a discussion at length regarding the convergence for different activities and programme.
The members chalked out the actual plan for every block level to advocate through IEC, for the month of July & August. The members also decided to take up its first convergence activity at Moava Village on June 26 where anemia in young children, adolescent girls and women will be the focus of this convergence programme.
VILLAGE COUNCIL XUKHEPU ADOPTS RESOLUTION ON WILDLIFE PROTECTION
In order to preserve and protect wildlife within the jurisdiction of Xukhepu Village, all activities related to fishing or hunting in any form has been completely banned for three years or till the resolution is amended by the Village Council of Xukhepu Village.
Cutting of trees, picking of any edible leaves/ fruits within the jurisdiction by non- inhabitants of Xukhepu Village is strictly prohibited with effect from the date of this resolution (i.e. 26th of March, 2019). Defaulters shall be penalized with a sum of Rs. 5000/-. His/her weapon shall be ceased and kept under the custody of the Village Council or any place considered safe for the weapon. If the owner of the weapon wishes to take it back, he should pay an extra amount of Rs 5000/-to the Xukhepu Village Council. The council also resolved that any individual/group that finds any defaulters and brings him to the custody of the Xukhepu Village Council shall be rewarded handsomely as per the category, and as per the case.
All the citizens of Xukhepu Village have been authorized to seize any weapons/ articles found in possession of the defaulters and report it to the Xukhepu Village Council. Incase if any individual or group retaliates/ insults, the authorized order, the Xukhepu Village Council shall take stringent action against the defaulters. The Council also strongly resolved to cooperate and support any neighboring villages who have made resolutions for protecting and preserving the wildlife and biodiversity.
