MULTI DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE VISITS TAMLU

            A program for visit of the Multi Disciplinary Committee (MDC) form the Government of India was held at Community Hall, Tamlu on 10th of September 2019.

            Addressing on behalf of the visiting team Dr. Ashoke Roy, Director, RRC, NE, H&FW expressed his happiness of visiting the remote places and meeting its people. Referring to the power point presentation presented on the overall scenario of the Eastern Nagaland he said it brings out the reality of the people and the great potential that lies in this segment of India and he can witness the zeal and the participation of the community to be a part of the development.

            He also said that the presentation was made with sincerity and with concern of the community to be a part of the developing nation. Roy asserted that the presentation will enable the MDC with more data and information of the region and assured that the MDC will put up the correct picture before the authority of the Government of India for a logical end so that proper schemes are framed and implemented for overall growth and prospective of the area.

            Ashoke also said that he was pleased to see the huge potential not only to increase the income levels of the local people but also of the country as a whole in various sectors especially in tourism which will attract both national and international tourist.

            Earlier, speaking on behalf of the Phom Peoples Council former Executive Secretary, PBCA, Nuklu Phom presented the overall scenario on roads, educational institutions, hospitals, power source, etc within the Eastern Nagaland to the MDC and cited that picture sees the truth and seeing is believing. He also submitted a memorandum on behalf of the Eastern Nagaland signed by the Phom Peoples Council asserting that the proposed initiative of the Multi Disciplinary Committee should not be in view of the ENPO’s statehood demands under any circumstances. It said the social economic and political upliftment of the Eastern Nagaland is very limited and redress may be initiated in view of peoples demand since it was offered despite refusal.

            Pastor Shaophen Tamlu Town Baptist Church also spoke and apprised the MDC on the overall situation of the Tamlu area under Longlend district. The Deputy Commissioner Longleng Shayung Phom chaired the program.

            The visiting MDC comprised of five members namely Dr. A.P. Maheshwari, Chairman & Special Secretary (Internal Security); Kabilan, Director, NITI Aayog; Dr. Ashoke Roy, Director, RRC, NE, H&FW; Arjun Srivastava, DDG (HRD), Tourism and Ajay Kumar, Drinking Water & Sanitation.

MULTI DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE (MDC) VISITS THONOKNYU

            The Multi-Disciplinary Committee (MDC), Government of India arrived at Thonoknyu Hq on 10th September 2019. Joint Secretary DONER, Rambir Singh, Chief Engineer, NE Zone, H.C. Mandalay, Deputy Director General, Finance Services, Anjana Dune, DDG, Telecommunications, Deepak Chanduka and Liaason Changsang EAC Kohima held a meeting at Community Hall with the department officers and representatives of the tribal bodies/civil society organization and public leaders.

            Earlier the team was accorded a reception by the Village Guards at Thonoknyu Helipad ground.

MDC FOR DISTRICTS OF EASTERN NAGALAND VISITS TOBU

            The Multi Disciplinary Committee, Government of India to the Districts of Eastern Nagaland visited Tobu on 10th September 2019.The Official tour had a joint meeting with Administrative Officers/Police Officers/Officers of the line Departments and representatives of the Tribal Bodies/Civil Society Organisations/Public Leaders Tobu was conducted.

            The MTC urged all the employees to change their mind set in performing Government duties, inculcate work culture in order to benefit the District people in particular and the Naga as a whole.

STATE DEPUTY CHIEF-MINISTER VISITS LAMHAINAMDI VILLAGE

            State Deputy Chief-Minister, Y. Patton visited Lamhainamdi Village under Peren District on 10th October 2019 where six makeshift tent houses were burnt down and one church was partially damaged by unknown miscreants on 6th of September 2019 morning.

            The Civil Societies comprising of ZBD, ZCN, LCN, RCN, Zeliangrong Students’ Union & Lamhainamdi Village Chairman submitted a memorandum to Deputy Chief-Minister, Y. Patton with land related supportive documents. During the visit, Dy. CM made an assurance that the Cabinet sub-committee will discuss the matter and will send for further spot verification. The Dy. CM was accompanied by DGP Nagaland, DIG-3, SP Peren, DC Peren, ADC Jalukie and some other officials.

WEBSITE LAUNCHED AT PUGHOBOTO SDPDB MEETING

            Pughoboto Sub Divisional Planning and Development Board was held under the chairmanship of MLA and Chairman SDPDB Pughoboto, Y.Vikheho Swu at DB court hall, Pughoboto on 10th September 2019.

            The Chairman launched the official website of Pughoboto (www.adcpughoboto.nagaland.gov.in) making it the first ADC HQ in the state to have official website. The website will provide a range of service to the people who can easily access information of the division. The Chairman said people of Pughoboto can now download the ST and Indigenous certificate Form and others. He lauded the officers for launching the website which will bring transparency and accountability and asked the board members to provide authentic information. He said that this will not only enhance the efficiency of the officers but also upgrade the sub division.

            In the meeting, MLA also reviewed Thuwuni festival held for the last four years, and apprised that Thuwuni 2019 will be on hold due to engagements for centenary celebrations in Natsumi and 75 years celebration of Pughoboto Town and also the on going construction of four lane road from Dimapur to Kohima, which may hamper movement of the people. He said that Thuwuni Badminton tournament will be held in Pughoboto next year and Music Thuwuni- a  will be organized in Pughoboto, Kohima and Dimapur to promote the Aphuyami people.

            Doyang bridge between Pughoboto to Zunheboto weakening and therefore, the house decided to restrict plying of heavy vehicles above 10 tonnes till further order.

            The next SDPDB meeting will be held at Ghathashi. A presentation was also given by the Government High School which will celebrate 75 years of existence in March 2020.

BLOCK CONVERGENCE ACTION PLAN MEETING HELD

            Block Convergence Action Plan meeting was held at CTC, Chumoukedima, chaired by EAC Chumoukedima Thejavizo Nakhro on 9th September 2019. The meeting was attended by Block Officers of various line departments. Under the month long Poshan Maah or Nutrition month celebration, various activities are slated for September like Poshan seminar, Awareness camp and Anaemia screening camp for Adolescent girls, Panchayat meeting and Poshan local food melas for Chumoukedima Block. Activities at the village level include community base events, mother’s meetings, home visits and VHSNDs that will be conducted by Anganwadi workers in Convergnce with ASHA and ANM.

            According to member secretary CDPO Dimapur (Rural) Bonathung Ngullie, the action plan activities will be conducted in Convergence with Health & FW, Rural Development, PHED, RD-NRLM, School Education, F&CS at the block level where Social Welfare is the nodal department for Poshan Abhiyan.

SPECIAL TRAINING PROGRAMME FOR GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES UNDERWAY AT PUGHOBOTO

            In collaboration with the district administration of Pughoboto a special training programme for government employees of Pughoboto sub division is underway with Master Trainer ATI, Er. Moa Longkumer; Rtd. Sr. Acctt. Officer K. Woch and Under Secretary for Law and Justice, Andreas Ezung as resource persons from 10th to 13th September 2019.

            The topics covered include general conditions service, Pay & Allowances, fixation of pay, file management, Noting and drafting, Pension Rules (Theory & practical), GPF, Medical Attendance Rules, conduct Rules/Discipline & Appeal Rules, APAR, maintenance service of book, confirmation of service, Resignation, Leave Rules both theory and practical.

ELECTORS VERIFICATION PROGRAMME (EVP) FOR WOKHA

            ADC & Electoral Registration Officer, Wokha, Mhathung Tsanglao informs that the Election Commission of India has announced Electors Verification Programme from 1st September-15th October 2019 as part of pre-revision activity.

            Under this drive, verification and authentication of every elector is made mandatory, In this regard, to enable employees of every department for verification their enrolment in the electoral roll, the undersigned has set up Voters Facilitation Centre (VFC) at Deputy Commissioner Office, Wokha.

            All HODs have been requested to inform the employees under their establishment that are registered in the Electoral Tolls under Wokha District to visit the VFC as per schedule given below and completes the verification.

            Following are the date for verification department wise, (1) DC Office Staff 9th & 10 September 2019, (2). SP Office and Staff 11th & 12th September 2019 and (3) Rest of departments 13th to 20th September 2019.

            Further, all electors are directed to bring anyone of the following documents during the time of verification, Aadhar card, Indian Passport, Driving License, Government ID card, Bank Pass Book, Ration card, PAN card, Smart card issued by RGI and NPF, latest electricity/water/telephone/gas bill for that address either in the name of the applicant or that of his/her immediate relation like parents ect, any other documents as approved by the Commission.

ECONOMIC CENSUS 2019 LAUNCHING PROGRAMME HELD IN MOKOKCHUNG

            The launching programme of the Seventh Economic Census 2019 to be conducted during August/September 2019 and November/December 2019 was held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung on 9th September 2019.

            Information relating to economics activities in Mokokchung district will be collected/verified by enumerators/supervisors appointed by the Common Service Centres (CSCs) through door to door survey.

            Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung Rajesh Soundararajan has appealed to all the citizens of Mokokchung district to extend their co-operation by providing correct information and to support those involve in carrying out the Economic Census 2019 so that the work in the district could be completed on time.

DRIVERS’ UNION FELICITATES GOLD MEDAL AWARDEE

            The All Nagaland Directorate & District Govt. Drivers’ Union (AND & DGDU) has extended heartiest congratulation to Zeneikho Suohumvi (Head Driver) under the Department of Controller of Legal Metrology & Consumers Protection, Nagaland for being conferred the prestigious “Governor’s Gold Medal” on the occasion of the 72nd Independence Day, 2019 for his outstanding service. The union expressed utmost happiness for his achievement and prayed that the Almighty God continue to bless him in his future endeavours.

SCHOOL EDUCATION DEPT NOTIFIES

            The Directorate of School Education has notified that the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009 (RTE Act) clearly mentions that Free & Compulsory education should be provided within the age group of 6 to 14. And whereas, it is the continued endeavour of the Department of School Education to ensure compliance of the RTE Act 2009.

            Therefore, a ‘Child Enrolment Helpline’ has been started in the Directorate of School Education for complaints to be lodged through WhatsApp No: 60092 56788. Any concerned citizen is free to communicate to the department using WhatsApp or Text Message only with the following details.

  1. Name &Age of Child requiring schooling.
  2. Name & Address of the local guardian/ Parent.
  3. Contact number of local guardian/Parent (if available).
  4. Name of the nearest government school in the locality.

            Efforts will be made to send the child to the nearest school in the locality, in coordination with the SDEO/DEO concerned. It is also to note that the details of the informers/well wishers will be kept absolutely confidential. Bogus information will, however, be dealt with sternly since it is tantamount to tarnishing the image of an innocent citizen. All the concerned citizens of Nagaland have been requested to kindly come forward to ensure that not a single child is denied school education in the state.

HOME DEPARTMENT IDDUES ADVISORY ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

The Home Department, Government of Nagaland has issued the following advisory as a preventive measure against possible influx of illegal immigrants in the State:

  1. All entry points/check gates manned by the Police should be suitably strengthened to prevent any possible influx of illegal immigrants and mobile patrolling in vulnerable locations should be activated in the respective jurisdictions.
  2. Non-locals entering the State should not be allowed without the valid pass issued by the District Administration and any unusual influx of outsiders without valid pass should be promptly brought to the knowledge of the District Administration.
  3. All the Village/Town/Municipal Authorities are to take measures to strictly monitor the influx of people from outside the state in violation of the existing rules/norms.
  4. The antecedents of any new incoming tenants should be properly checked and verified by the District Administration and Police.
  5. The District Administration and Police are to strictly monitor the regulation of ILP, especially along the Border Areas.

Schools are reminded that the students who have qualified Class IX Examination 2018/Class XI Promotion Examination 2018-19 and who are now studying in Class X/XII are all regular candidates for the HSLC & HSSLC Examinations 2020. It may be noted that this year, the submission of forms to the Board is early but regular classes should continue. Head of Institutions must ensure that courses are completed, design of Board’s question papers are made known to the students in the internal examinations. Moreover, students should be guided, given remedial classes so as to prepare them well for the ensuing Board’s examinations.

                  Secondly, it may be noted that rules do not permit conducting a selection test to screen out the students (Page 13 of the Management of Examinations).
