            Sekrenyi the premier festival of the Angami tribe was celebrated at Dzükozho, Jakhama village with Advisor, Youth Resources & Sports, Zhale Neikha gracing the occasion as the Chief Guest on 6th December, 2018.

            The festival was organised by the Japfüphiki, Dobashi & Gaonbura during the Hornbill festival not only to showcase the rich culture and traditions of the Angamis to tourists from outside the state but also to build goodwill and understanding between the Dobashis and Gaonburas, under Japfüphiki range.

            Er. Zhale Neikha in his address lamented the gradual loss of knowledge in folk dance and song among the present generation and exhorted the youngsters to preserve and protect their culture and traditions passed on to them by their forefathers.

            Er. Neikha,  reminding that the Gaonburas and Dobashis since the British rule played an important role in the maintenance of law and order in the village, stressed the need for co-operation and co-ordination among the GB’s and DB’s.


           A folk song, using Tati musical instrument was performed by the Jubilant Tribal Club, Kigwema and a folk dance was presented the Zhotso Students Union, Jakhama during the occassion.The Sekrenyi programme was chaired by Head DB, SDO(C) office Jakhama, Lhaliezhü. Invocation was pronounced by GB Khuzama, Medozeho Lüho. Welcome address was delivered by Notho Koso, Vote of Thanks by Head DB, EAC office Kezocha, Kehodel. GB Pfuchama, President Japfüphiki GB Union, Chato Paphino and Jakhama Village Council Chairman also addressed the gathering.
