CEO NAGALAND HOLDS MEETING WITH POLITICAL PARTIES

            CEO Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha held a meeting with all political parties for General Election to Lok Sabha 2019 and by-election to 26- Aonglenden AC on 14th March 2019.

            The CEO appraised the political party representatives on types of election expenditure, disqualification relating to election expenditure, legal provision of expenditure, why monitoring of expenditure is required and criminal antecedents contesting election.

            Other officials also briefed the party workers on paid news, MCMC, Suvidha and cVIGIL. Representatives from various political parties in the state attended the meeting and interacted with Commissioner Nagaland, M. Patton, Additional CEO, N.Moa Aier besides the CEO.

DC MOKOKCHUNG CONVENES MEETING ON ELECTION

            With announcement of the Lok Sabha and Bye-election Nagaland Legislative Assembly, from 26 Aonglenden (ST) Assembly Constituency elections date for Nagaland, Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung Rajesh Soundarajan who is also the District Election Officer (DEO)

Mokokchung, convened a meeting represented by SP Police, all Administrative officer under head quarter, all Political parties under Mokokchung, Ao Senden, Watsu Mungdang and AKM representatives on 14th March in the ADC Planning Conference Hall.

            DC stated that consequent on the announcement of the schedule for general election to the Lok Sabha 2019 and the Bye-election to Nagaland Legislative Assembly from 26 Aonglenden (ST) Assembly constituency. The model Code of Conduct comes into operation with immediate effect from 10th of March 2019 and will be force till the completion of the elections. He read out and briefed on the schedule for the elections.

            DC also briefed on election on Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC) for identification at the polling station and also the photo identity documents to establishing one identity for those electors who are not able to produce the EPIC.

            Further DC appealed to one and all to extend co-operation in order to ensure free, fair and successful conduct of the Lok Sabha and bye-election polls slated for April 11.

            EAC Alongkima, Bodi Kapfo briefed the house on pre-defined for candidate permission which comes under SUVIDAH, a new process in this election.

            SP Mokokchung, Raguramarajan A, who also attended the meeting assured the house, on law and order security will be provided, “will take all steps to make sure free and fair election is held in the district he said. He also requested and appealed to all to follow the guidelines in the election process for the benefit of all.

            Ao Senden President Chubawati who spoke on behalf of NGOs appealed to one all to maintain a smooth atmosphere for the conduct of a free and fair election.

KOHIMA DISTRICT MCMC RE-CONSTITUTED

            In partial modification of an earlier notification, Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Kohima, Anoop Khinchi IAS has notified that a media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) for the forthcoming General election to the Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency, 2019 is constituted as follows: DC & ARO, Kohima as Chairman while members include Asst. Commissioner & Nodal Officer EEM,  Vineet Kumar IAS (9366195648); IIS, News Editor AIR Kohima, Asonuo (8974053022); Sr. Programme Officer, Directorate of Information Technology and Communication, Chura Katiry;  Correspondent, Nagaland Post and Treasurer Kohima Press Club, Solomon Sha (8014572667) and DPRO Kohima, Ruopfulenuo Huozha, (9436010904) as Member Secretary.

            The District MCMC shall be responsible for certification of advertisement and will also Monitor both print and electronic media including cable networks and record either in CD or DVD/keep photocopy of all advertisements/paid news/ election related news of the contesting candidates/political parties.

MEETING OF DEPARTMENTAL NODAL OFFICERS AT KOHIMA

            In connection with the ensuing General Election to the Lok Sabha, 2019, a meeting of all the Departmental Nodal Officers will be held on 18th March, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima.

            In this connection, the DC & DEO Kohima has informed all concerned to be present for the meeting without fail.

DC ZUNHEBOTO NOTIFIES

            Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto, Shanavas C, IAS in a notification stated that in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha General election 2019 to the Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency, all the arms license holders under Zunheboto District are to deposit arms licenses and the weapons at the nearest Police Station on or before 30th March 2019. Failure to deposit the license and weapon within the stipulated time will result in cancellation of license (s) under appropriate sections of law.

EEM CONTROL ROOM AND CALL CENTRE SET UP IN DC’s OFFICE KOHIMA

            In connection with the General Election to the Lok Sabha, 2019, an Election Expenditure Monitoring Control Room and Call centre has been set up in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Kohima with the following dedicated numbers, 0370 – 2290224 and 09402053787.

            In this connection, DC & DEO Kohima, Anoop Khinchi IAS has informed that any person may call the aforementioned numbers regarding corrupt practices related to the election.

POLLING PERSONNEL TRAINING SCHEDULE AT ZUNHEBOTO

            In view of the forthcoming General Elections to the 17th Lok Sabha, training programme as per the schedule has been fixed. All the polling officials have been directed to attend the training programme without fail, failing which stringent disciplinary action will be initiated. During the first phase of training i.e. 18th March, 2019 All the Polling officials have been further directed to submit two (2) passport size photos.

            Presiding officer and 1st Polling Officer training 1st phase on 18th March 2019, 2nd phase 28th march 2019 at GHSS Zunheboto and 3rd phase on 8th April 2019 at Town Hall Zunheboto. 2nd Polling officers and 3rd polling officers on 19th March 2019, 2nd phase on 29th march 2019 at GHSS Zunheboto and 3rd phase on 8th April 2019 at Town hall Zunheboto. Grade IV staffs training on 19th march and 8th April 2019 at Town hall Zunheboto.

DC PHEK ON REQUISITIONING OF VEHICLES

            Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer has informed that all Government vehicles have been requisitioned for the conduct of General Election to the Lok Sabha, 2019 from 1 (one) Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency. Hence, Government vehicles in good running condition along with a driver should report to the Transport Committee at Local Ground Phek Town at 10:00 AM on 8th April, 2019 or as and when required by his office. Failure to comply with this Order will be dealt with as per Election Laws.

MCMC RE-CONSTITUTED AT PHEK

            In view of the General Elections to Lok Sabha 2019, the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) has been re-constituted with the following members to discharge the function of certification of advertisement and checking paid news and also to assist in enforcement of media related regulation under RP Act 1951.

            The member include Sachin Jaiswal, IAS Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Phek as Chairman with member including Zibenthung Kithan, ADC Phek HQ; Gwanilo Ciesotsu, DPRO, Phek and Temjenmeren, Asst. Professor, Phek Government College, Phek.

ADC BHANDARI DIRECTS OFFICERS TO BE IN STATION

            In view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha Election 2019, and the Election Model Code of Conduct having come into effect, the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bhandari, Tiameren Chang, through official memorandum dated 13.3.2019 has issued an order whereby all the officers and staff of all the departments under Bhandari sub division have been directed to remain in their respective place of posting with immediate effect.

            The order further stated that disciplinary action shall be initiated against any government servant in violating the order.

TSEMINYU SDPDB MEETING ADVOCATES CLEAN TOWN

            The monthly meeting of SDPDB was held at DBs court Tseminyu on 13th March 2019 under the chairmanship of ADC Tseminyu, Nokchasashi.

            The meeting decided to defer the upcoming inter-departmental sports meet to October/November 2019. Other agenda discussed included registration of Keso Society, Phentejon Tseminyu and deliberations on keeping the town clean starting from department office areas and town wards and the best one to be awarded.

DC ZUNHEBOTO INFORMS

            In view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha general election 2019 to the Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency and in continuation to the office letter NO. ARMS-2/2009-2010 dated 15th February 2019, DC Zunheboto has directed all the arms licence holders under Zunheboto district to deposit arms licences and the weapons to the nearest Police station on or before 30th March 2019. ADC & DEO, Pughoboto NOTIFIES ON CASH TRANSACTIONS DURING ELECTION

            ADC & DEO, Pughoboto, Mhathung Tsanglao has stated that in view of the General Election to the 17th Lok Sabha 2019 and its pursuance of the instruction of Election Commission of India has informed to all concern particularly to all political parties, contesting candidates and party worker that cash exceeding Rs. 50,000 found in a vehicle carrying a candidate, his agent or party workers or carrying posters or election materials, or any drugs liquor arms, or gift items which are valued at more than Rs. 10,000 likely to be used for inducement of electors shall be subjected to seizure.

            Any person carrying any amount in cash exceeding Rs. 50000 should always keep some relevant document with them which substantiates the source and purpose of the money.

DC DIMAPUR FLAGS OFF POSHAN PAKHWADA CYCLE RALLY

            Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol flagged off the Poshan PAKHWADA (National Nutrition Mission) cycle Rally on 14th March 2019, from City tower junction, Dimapur, where around 70 participants took part in the rally supporting the cause.

            Highlighting on the mission, CDPO Robert said Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyan (National Nutrition Mission) is a flagship programme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for curbing under nutrition to each and every household by 2022. The mission aims to reduce level of under nutrition and other related problems by ensuring convergence of various nutrition related schemes, he informed.

            The programme was organised under the aegis of Social Welfare Department Dimapur. On the occasion all the participants were given T. Shirts, caps and TA, by the department.

MEDIA ARE EYES AND EARS TO CITIZENS: DC DIMAPUR

            Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol also the DEO Dimapur met with the press fraternity of Dimapur in the DCs conference Hall Dimapur, on 13th March 2019, for the first time, after joining as DC Dimapur. Acknowledging the media as the eyes and ears to citizens, Kevin sought the cooperation of the media during the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls 2019, stating that only through the media, informations are disseminated to a wider audience.

            Highlighting on the poll preparedness, Kevin informed that Dimapur district has been working in full swing for the Lok Sabha polls 2019 even before the announcement of election date. He informed that Dimapur will have 335 polling stations with 46 PS identified as critical and 49 as vulnerable. Number of voters in Dimapur is two lakh four thousand four hundred and forty eight, he added. 36 sector officers and 14 Nodal officers has been appointed to take charge of various teams and monitor the election process, Kevin informed. He also informed that vehicle requisitioning has already started in Dimapur since yesterday morning.

            Media persons representing Nagaland Post, Morung express, Eastern mirror, Nagaland today, Nagaland Page, Telegraph,   electronic news media representatives from  DDK  and ANI and representatives from local cable channels Global chapter and City Cable were present in the meeting.
