‘AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV’ KICKS OFF AT KIPHIRE
The Department of Public Health Engineering, Kiphire division marked the launch of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, ahead of fifty eight weeks of 75th anniversary of Indian Independence on 6th July 2021.
Marking the anniversary, the Department organised cleanliness drive and tree plantation activities at main water source at Yingshikiur village under Kiphire division. The department officials along with village community took active participation in the drive. The department stated that such events would continue till 14th August and would be conducting various activities in the coming days.
The officials expressed their gratitude towards the village community for their active participation and also encouraged them to continuously check their water source in order to consume safe water.

FIRE DESTROYS CHURCH AT OLD JALUKIE
In an unfortunate incident on the night of 8th July, 2021 at around 2:00 AM, Old Jalukie Sector-B Baptist Church building was completely devastated by fire suspected to have been emitted through electrical short circuit rendering the entire Church building with properties therein damaged.
The incident was verified by the District Administration, Police, ZBCC Executives and the general public. Cash and properties amounting to approximately Rs. 12,25,200/- were lost and destroyed in the unfortunate fire incident.
In this connection, Old Jalukie Village G.B. has lodged an FIR to the Officer-in-charge of Peren Police Station and has also written to the Administration through ADC Jalukie to extend instant relief to the Church under Disaster Management Fund or any other related fund with adequately compensation to construct a new place of worship for the villagers.

DC PHEK NOTIFIES ON TRAFFIC MOVEMENT
In the interest of public safety, Deputy Commissioner Phek, Razouvolie Dozo has informed that there will be total restriction of traffic movement between Porba & Sakraba village area (Chainage 8+000) from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM from 12th July to 17thJuly 2021. He stated that the restriction is necessitated to facilitate speedy completion of 2-lane works of Pfutsero-Phek road.
General public have been advised to avoid travelling in the aforementioned stretch during the stipulated time for safety. All concerned may take note of the same for necessary action.
NBSE WARNS ERRING SCHOOLS
The Nagaland Board of School Education stated that it had notified to its registered schools vide Notification No. 35/2021 dated 20.5.2021 on how the schools should conduct the online classes/academic activities. Assessment guidelines for the schools to make continuous assessments in parts and submit the consolidated marks secured by the students were given vide No.NBE-10/Ad-Misc(10)/2021-22/814 dated 14.6.2021.
However, it has come to the notice of the Government that some schools are not adhering to the guidelines given by the Board and conducting assessments at a stretch of 3(three) hours duration with an examination routine.
Therefore, the Board has notified once again that schools must follow the given Assessment Guidelines 2021, failing which appropriate action shall be initiated against the erring schools.
