CM CONVENES MEETING OF SELECT COMMITTEE TO EXAMINE THE APPLICATION OF SARFAESI ACT

Chief Minister and the Chairman of the Select Committee to Examine the Application of the Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002 (SARFAESI Act, 2002) to Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, has convened a meeting of the Committee on 15th November, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Committee Hall of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat, Kohima.

All the Members of the Committee have been requested to make it convenient to attend the Meeting.

CATCH THEM YOUNG TOURNAMENT TO BEGIN FROM 11th NOV

            The Department of Youth Resources & Sports will be organizing the 13th edition of the U-14 Inter-District Catch Them Young Tournament in the discipline of Badminton, Table Tennis and Athletics, for both boys and girls. The tournament is scheduled to be held from 10th to 12th November 2021 at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.

            As a follow up action of the tournament, outstanding players shall be spotted for undertaking into Sports Academy if they so desire.

            The opening session will be held on 11th November 2021 at 10:00 AM at IG Stadium, Kohima. Advisor to Chief Minister, Abu Metha, will grace the inaugural programme as the special guest. Chairperson of the programme, Director, YRS, Akumla Chuba will deliver the welcome address. A special song will be performed by Edikunu Rikha and friends after which the special guest will deliver his speech. For the oath taking, host team captain will take it on behalf of the players while T Imtisungit Ao will take it on behalf of the officials.

            The special guest will declare open the tournament and the boys 100 m heats will follow.

XXXIX NAGALAND POLICE DUTY-CUM-SPORTS MEET 2021 FROM 12th NOV

Commemorating the 75 Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Nagaland Police Family Welfare Association & Lady Wives of Police Officers & all other ranks is organising the Family welfare competition 2021 at NAPTC Hockey Ground Chumoukedima, Dimapur on 12 November 2021. The event will be will be inaugurated by lady wife of CM, Kaisa Rio at 11:00 AM.

Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio will grace the opening ceremony of the 39th Nagaland Police Duty-cum-Sports Meet 2021 at NAPTC Hockey Ground Chumoukedima, Dimapur on 12th November 2021 at 2:00 PM. President, Indian Olympic Association & President, International Hockey Federation, Dr. Narinder Dhruv Batra will be the guest of honour at the event.

Deputy Chief Minister & Home Minister, Y Patton will be the Special Guest at the closing ceremony of the 39th Nagaland Police Duty-cum-Sports Meet 2021 at NAPTC Hockey Ground Chumoukedima, Dimapur on 18th November 2021 at 2:30 pm.

ZHALEO RIO LAUDS DTF DIMAPUR

Advisor Sericulture, Excise and Minority Affairs who is also the Chairman, DPDB Dimapur, Zhaleo Rio, expressed appreciation to the members of the Dimapur District Task Force, for surpassing 100 % vaccination in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

Chairing the Dimapur DPDB meeting for the month of November on 9th November 2021, Zhaleo Rio conveyed that the High Power Committee during its meeting at Kohima, has also commented on the achievements made by Dimapur DTF, frontline workers, officers and all line departments with regard to the successful vaccination drive in the District. Informing that the district has achieved beyond 120% vaccination in the urban areas, the chairman DPDB Dimapur encouraged the members for achieving 100% even in the rural areas. He further requested the DTF and the officers for motivating and educating the public on the benefits of vaccination to ensure that the public get both doses of vaccination. “Let us take this message as our official duty,” Zhaleo urged.

The Advisor also extended appreciation to the members for attending the meeting in full strength and sought for their cooperation, participation and support even in the days to come.

Reviewing the last meeting minutes, the House recommended and approved the proposal for establishing a Paramedical Institute by Life Square Society at Neiphruolie Colony, Chumukedima Village, basing on the satisfactory joint verification report conducted by EAC Seithekiema, GBs and CMO Dimapur. The members also approved the proposal for changing the Nomenclature of Excel Children School to Dzuvian School.

The agenda of the day included formation of District Level Screening and Verification Committee for society registration cases which was mooted by the Chairman and Vice Chairman, DPDB Dimapur. Towards this, DC Dimapur explained that the committee would be headed by ADC, concern area administrative officers, members from concern departments, whereby the committee would screen and verify the society registration proposals before putting up at the DPDB meeting to which the House agreed and approved. Other agenda including adoption of Vihokhu village to Model Village, Change of nomenclature from Logos School to Footprints Academy, Naming of Play Ground at Nihokhu EAC headquarter were asked to complete certain formalities before approval from the House.

Departmental activities were presented by Sericulture and Fisheries department. The two departments explained the projects undertaken, ongoing activities and the different programmes with the aid of power point presentation.

CEO TO HOLD MEETING WITH STAKEHOLDERS AND ELECTORAL OFFICIALS AT KOHIMA AND DIMAPUR

Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland V. Shashank Shekhar, IAS, along with other officers of CEO’s Office will be visiting and holding meeting with various stakeholders and electoral officials at Kohima and Dimapur on 10th and 11th November, 2021 respectively to review progress of activities in connection with the ongoing Special Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls w.r.t. 01.01.2022 as the qualifying date.

            They will be meeting DC& DEO, Administrative Officers, Political Parties, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and others. In addition to the Special Summary Revision activities, any other issues relating to improvement in the electoral roll in general will also be discussed.

            They will also review with the administrative Officers, the Election Commission of India program, Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) which is a flagship programme of the Election Commission of India which was launched in 2009. The aim and objective of the programme is to educate the voter in electoral process and create awareness on ethical, informed and inclusive election. It endeavors to provide continuous electoral democracy education to the citizen in partnership with various agencies and stakeholders.

DC NOKLAK INTERACTS WITH STUDENTS

 

As part of the District Administration’s Student Mentorship Program, students of Government Higher Secondary School, Noklak were provided the opportunity to interact with the Deputy Commissioner and other administrative officers at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner Noklak on 9th November 2021.

The program is being implemented so that the students receive first-hand experience of the manner in which the governmental setup in the district functions. Through this, the district administration also endeavors to encourage young minds to make correct choices in their careers and life in general.

STATE GOVT INFORMS ON GENERAL HOLIDAYS RESTRICTED HOLIDAYS AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2022

The Government of Nagaland has declared the days specified in Annexure-I as General Holidays and Annexure-II as Restricted Holidays in all the Government offices under the Government of Nagaland during the Calendar year 2022.

Further, in pursuance of the explanation to Section- 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Acts, 1881 (Act, XXVI of 1881), the Government of Nagaland has declared the days specified in the Annexure-III as Public Holidays in Nagaland during 2022.
