MICRO-ISOLATION ZONE TO BE IMPLEMENTED IN KOHIMA
Kohima District Task Force (DTF) on COVID-19 had a meeting with the representatives of ward and colony on 4thAugust 2021 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner & Chairman DTF Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS at DPDB’s Conference Hall, Kohima.
DC Gregory informed the gathering that the meeting was convened to call for concerted efforts from all corners of the district towards the successful implementation of the Micro-Isolation Zone (MIZ), notified by the State Government. He said the concept of MIZ has been conceived with the aim to cause minimal disruption to normal life and economic activities by isolating a defined small geographical area which might be a small as a building from the rest.
As in Containment Zones, restriction of movement, social distancing, enhanced active surveillance, testing all suspected cases, isolation of cases and intensive IEC on Covid Appropriate Behaviours and other preventive & safety public health measures will be put in place. DC said that depending on the number of COVID-19 cases and number of houses with COVID-19 cases, a cluster of houses or a locality-colony/block/khel/ward/ village will be declared as MIZ.
In this connection, the DC called for collective efforts from all the wards and colonies to join hands and assist the DTF in identifying the household and provide required information to implement the exercise effectively so as to break the chain of transmission. While appreciating the AKMWP, wards and colonies for extending their best cooperation and efforts in containing the spread of the disease so far, the DC further solicited their continue supports and efforts in this fight to avoid further worst situation in the district. He said the 2nd wave was not over yet and the prevailing positivity rate and the risk associated with the impending 3rd wave was a great concerned where the district needs to scale up the testing and vaccination and urged them to put more efforts in this areas.
CMO Kohima, Dr. Vezokholu Theyo spoke on the testing strategy and also emphasized on the importance of testing and vaccination in the present scenario of the pandemic. DIO Kohima, Dr, Rupert Peseyie also informed that the percentage of vaccinated beneficiaries has been improved after the sensitization programme conducted by the DTF.
YRS LAUNCHES LAUNCHPAD EDUCATION AND CAREER FAIR
Virtual launching of Launchpad Education & Career Fair was held atthe Directorate of Youth Resources & Sports, Kohima on 4thAugust 2021.
Advisor, Youth Resources & Sports, Er. Zale Neikha, thanked the department of Youth Resources & Sports, YouthNet and supporting department, School Education for working tirelessly to help the students in their career guidance and expressed hope that the career guidance program will improve the society to move forward.
He also announced the Launchpad Awards where smartphones were awarded to three students: Ethel A Konyak of Government Higher Secondary School, Tizit; Leyang B. N Shiu of Government Higher Secondary School, Tuensang and Ayimwati of Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School. Laptops were awarded to two students: Nithosano Nagi of Jotsoma Government Higher Secondary School and Dina Rai of Government Higher Secondary School, Dimapur. Scholarship for Graduation was also awarded to five students: Rosy Konyak of Government Higher Secondary School, Mon, graduation in English at Government College, Dimapur; Tsarobi of Government Higher Secondary School Kiphire, graduation in Economic at Zisaji Presidency College, Kiphire; Muthiam P, Government Higher Secondary School, Noklak graduation in History at Capital College, Kohima; T. Chijava, Bautung Government Higher Secondary School, graduation in Education at Yingli College, Longleng. Best School Award was awarded to Tizit Government Higher secondary school, Mon. Best Teacher was awarded to Chubarenla Imsong of Bautung Government Higher secondary school.
Director, YouthNet, Nuneseno Chase highlighted on the overview of the Launchpad. Welcome address was delivered by Director, YRS, Akumla Chuba while vote of thanks was delivered by public information officer, Libemo Jami.
DIMAPUR EXPORTS PINEAPPLES TO KOLKATA
Molsang Organic Pineapples Producer Company Limited, Molvom, Nagaland in partnership with Agriculture and Horticulture Department, Government of Nagaland, has sent 600kgs of pineapple (500 nos of pineapples in 50 cartons) through air cargo from Dimapur to Big Basket Kolkata on 4th August 2021.
According to a press release by Deputy Director, in-charge Marketing, Department of Horticulture, Meya Sashi, Nagaland pineapples are considered as one of the sweetest and juiciest pineapple in the world and certified as 100% organic by OneCert International. He informed that at present, the area under organic certified pineapple cultivation in the state is 850 hectares under Mission Organic Value Chain Development, sponsored by Government of India. The project is being implemented in three villages, namely Molvom, Bungsang and Mhainamtsi, consisting of 500 farmers. He also mentioned that the production of certified organic pineapple in Nagaland is 10,000 to 12,000 metric ton with turnover of ₹15 crores per year and the government of Nagaland, Horticulture Department under MOVCD NER vision 2030 is contemplating to create an organic pineapple corridor along the foothill road covering an area of 10,000 hectares.

- XAVIER COLLEGE, JALUKIE BAGS ONE DISTRICT ONE GREEN CHAMPION AWARD
St. Xavier College Jalukie under Peren District was awarded the ‘One District One Green Champion Award’ under Swachhta action plan 2020-2021 during an online workshop program, organised by Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India on 3rd August, 2021 at DC’s Chamber, Peren.
The award was handed over to the Principal & students of St. Xavier College, Jalukie by Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS.The award is given to educational institutions that have proactively participated in maintaining a hygienic campuses.

PEREN TOWN COUNCIL TO ORGANISE MASS SOCIAL FOR I-DAY CELEBRATION
Additional Deputy Commissioner cum Administrator, Peren Town Council, K. Mhathung Tsanglao on 3rd August 2021 issued a notification stating that there will be a mass social for the preparation of 75thIndependence Day celebration on 7th August 2021 from 7:00 AM onward.
Wards/ government departments have been directed to clean their respective wards and office premises. SPECIAL COVID-19 VACCINATION DRIVE TO BE CONDUCTED AT WOKHA
Medical Department, Wokha in collaboration with the District Administration will be conducting Intensified Special Covid-19 Vaccination drive dated on 7/8/21 starting from 09:00 a.m.
On the same day Random Rapid Antigen Test will also be conducted for those individuals who are willing to know the Covid-19 antigen status or requiring the test for some special reasons.
The Vaccination Team at the session site will also entertain those people with disabilities, mental illness and those individuals who are not able to come to the session sites due to old age / associated with co-morbidities.

AGRI DEPT OFFICIALS VISIT KIKRUMA
Officials from the Department of Agriculture along with ATMA Phek paid a visit to Kikruma village, Phek on 3rd August 2021. The objective was to have an interaction with the village council and the farmers on the unique farming system being practiced.
A short programme chaired by Deputy Project Director ATMA, Kohima, Keviu Shuya was conducted, wherein, Joint Director of Agriculture, Dr. I. Amenla, handed over the book “Innovations in Agricultural Extension” (a joint publication of Michigan State University-Extension-USA & MANAGE, Hyderabad-India) where the Zabo/Zabϋ farming system of Kikruma Village was also featured. Village Council Chairman, Thipuzhoyo Thira and VCM, Veto Kezo interacted on behalf of the Village authority.
The officials also handed out copies of ATMA success stories published by ATMA Nagaland and the recently released District Crop Calendar published by the Department of Agriculture along with some winter vegetable seeds. Zanehu, the farm School teacher and the owner of Razϋ (Zabo) Farm School of ATMA explained with a field tour on the Zabo/Zabϋ farming to the visiting team.
DC OFFICE COMPLEX, PEREN HQ. SEALED FOR 48 HOURS
In view of the detection of COVID-19 positive case through screening test and in order to take preventive measures to contain the spread of COVID-19, Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier, NCS has informed that the right wing (Ground floor, 1st floor and 2nd floor) of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, Peren has been sealed for fumigation and disinfection with effect from 4th August, 2021 for a period of 48 hours.
The DC further informed all Head of Offices and public under Peren District to take note of the above and avoid visiting of Office with effect from 4th August, 2021.
Any person violating the order will be liable to be prosecuted as per the provisions of Section-51 and 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 besides legal action under Section-188 of IPC.
PHEK DC INFORMS ON LOCKDOWN RELAXATIONS
Deputy Commissioner & Chairman, District Task Force, Phek, Razouvolie Dozo, NCS in an order dated 2nd August 2021, informed that lockdown has been extended in Phek District with effect from 2nd August 2021 to 18th August 2021,with further relaxations and re-opening of more activities as mentioned below:
- The timing for opening of the shops will be from 06:00 AM to 06:00 PM.
- The duration of the night curfew is further reduced and it will be from 08:00 PM to 04:00 AM.
- Takeaways home delivery outlets will be allowed to open and function except during the curfew hours from 08:00 PM to 04:00 AM
- Buses will be allowed to ply with up to 50% occupancy and subject to both the driver and attendants fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or should have taken the first dose against COVID-19, and 15 (fifteen) days should have passed since taking the first dose; and if none of the two aforesaid criteria is fulfilled, then the driver/ attendant should carry a COVID-19 negative test report taken through either RT-PCR/ TrueNat or CBNAAT with the swab taken for testing not earlier than 15 (fifteen) days.
- Inter-District bus service/ taxi service is allowed subject to the conditions as mentioned above and in addition the passengers should be either fully vaccinated against COVID-19, or should have taken the first dose against COVID-19, and 15 (fifteen) days should have passed since taking the first dose. If none of the two aforesaid criteria is fulfilled, then the passenger should carry a COVID-19 negative test report taken through either RT-PCR/ TrueNat or CBNAAT with the swab taken for testing not earlier than 72 hours from the date of travel.
- Detailed SOP for Para ‘4’ and ‘5’ with the dates when the aforesaid provisions will be effective from, shall be intimated accordingly as per the SOP to be issued by the Home Department.
Any person group of persons acting in violation of the order shall be deemed to have committed an offense punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 and under relevant sections of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
ADC KOHIMA ISSUES ADDENDUM ON UNLOCK –IV
In continuation to DC’s office order of even number Dated 01/08/2021, and in further relaxation of Unlock Phase-IV, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Bhavani Sri, IAS has issued an addendum stating that all categories of shops will be allowed to open on all days from 06:00 AM to 06:00 PMa subjected to strict adherence of all Covid protocols. However, the present arrangement/ strategy being followed in Shopping Complexes/ Market places where more than 1 (One) shop is located in the same building/compound issued vide Order Dated 10/07/2021 shall continue to be strictly enforced.
The addendum also added that all other activities which are otherwise not permitted shall continue to be strictly restricted.
Any action (s) in contravention with the above stated regulation shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
