DC KOHIMA INFORMS ON UNAUTHORISED NIGHT PARKING AT DC’S OFFICE COMPLEX

Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Gregory Thejawelie, NCS has informed all concerned that unauthorized night parking at Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, Kohima by vehicles without valid night parking permits issued by the competent authority shall be towed away w.e.f 1st August 2021.

ISSUANCE OF PASSES FOR NLA SESSION

Commissioner & Secretary, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, Dr. P.J. Antony has informed that Car Passes and Official Gallery Passes for the Eighth Session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly to be held on 3rd and 5thAugust, 2021, will be issued from 31st July 2021:

  • All Ministers, Advisors and AHODs may collect Car Passes and Gallery Passes from the Special Secretary (Home), Civil Secretariat, Nagaland, Kohima.
  • All MLAs, P.S/ P.A to the members are to collect Car Passes from the Reception Counter Gate No-II, Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
  • All HODs, IPR and Media Persons are to collect their Car Passes from the Reception Counter, Gate No-I, Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat.

COOPERATIVE MARKETING PICKUP TRUCKS LAUNCHED AT TUENSANG

A launching programme of the cooperative marketing pick-up vans, assisted under Integrated Cooperative Development Project (ICDP) 2020-2021, ARCS Tuensang, was held on 28th July 2021 with Deputy Commissioner & Chairman DLCC, ICDP, Kumar Ramnikant as the special guest.

The beneficiaries of ICDP pickup trucks were Saoshou VDB MPCS Ltd, Tsadang VDB MPCS ltd, Alisopur VDB MPCS ltd, Jung yam Fishery CS Ltd, Shove Agri &Allied CS ltd and Chendang Village integrated MPCS ltd.

Kumar Ramnikant said that India with more than half of its population engaged in agri &allied sector, farmers should be given an important recognition but unfortunately it is not happening in the society. He stated that the country has a different set of system where population is more concentrated in urban areas and fewer in rural areas, where the whole workforce is concentrated and it is a matter of concern, for which there is a need to link the markets.

Ramnikant stressed on the need for the right market for organic products and also increase demand. He also applauded the department’s initiatives in figuring out the right society and giving the giving the pickup van which will ease farmers’ activities. The DC also advised the beneficiaries to use the property with utmost care so that it will give them all the maximum services in expanding the business. He urged the beneficiaries to cooperate and keep a bond within the society so that it can grow together.

Chairman, Jungyam Fishery CS Ltd Nokak village, Hangthing Khiam shared an experience sharing while ARCS Tuensang, Akhangjongshi chaired the programme.

PRA ON ODF-PLUS SUSTAINBILTY HELD AT NOKYAN VILLAGE

PRA activity on ODF Plus sustainability was conducted at Nokyan Village under Noklak District on 27th July 2021. The programme was organized by DWSM, PHED Tuensang and sponsored by WSSO PHED Nagaland.

IEC Consultant, DWSM PHED Tuensang, Fairyson Sangtam said that open defecation free status has to be sustained through continued behavioral change communication. He also spoke on the key objectives of SBMG to sustain ODF status. The importance of Grey water management and various technological options available such as soak pits, leach pit at household and community level was shared by Er. Khaoshai Lam, SDO PHED Noklak. He also spoke on retrofitting of toilets and for appropriate treatment of black water and faecal sludge.

The exercise was attended by Village Council, WATSAN, Swachhagrahi, Anganwadi/Health workers.

TUENSANG DISTRICT FELICITATES TOPPERS

District Administration and Mahila Shakti Kendra, Tuensang under the banner of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Tuensang conducted a felicitation program for HSLC toppers on 27th July 2021 at DC’s conference hall, Tuensang.

Deputy commissioner Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant, IAS congratulated the toppers and encouraged them to keep going even if they find hindrance and strive till they reach the goal. He felicitated two toppers, three subject toppers and subject teachers with cash prize and certificate.

Women welfare officer, Mahila Shakti Kendra, Songmao M, highlighted about the program of BBBP.

CHIEF SECETARY CONVENES MEETING ON E-SERVICES

Chief Secretary, J Alam, IAS held a meeting on e-services with the Departments of Home, IT&C and Commissioner, Nagaland at the Chief Secretary’s Conference Hall, Kohima on 28th July 2021.

It was appraised in the meeting that there is increasing use of the following online services:

  • NPSC – over 40,000 applications processed since 2018.
  • Online Scholarship – 53,666 (2019) and 41,680 (2020) applications received.
  • Online ILP (Tourist) – 8,971 applications received and 5,509 ILPs issued since November 2019.

In order to improve online service delivery in the State, it was decided to enable online applications for Schedule Tribe and Backward Tribe Certificates through the eDistrict Portal soon. Necessary training of District officials will be conducted through online modules for the same.

As an enhancement to the existing online ILP for tourists, a module to enable renewal of ILP through online mode would be added. The pilot implementation of e-Office in the Civil Secretariat was also discussed during the meeting.
