BRIEFING ON COVID-19 ON 25TH JUNE 2020 FOR NAGALAND BY PRINCIPAL SECRETARY, HOME
The full text is as follows:
“As on today, the total number of positive cases in the State stands at 355. Out of this, the total active cases are 195, and 160 have recovered. All the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals. As per the severity of symptoms, all the 195 active cases are asymptomatic.
Till date, a total of 10,962 samples have been tested and out of this, 7,369 samples have been received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), till today. Out of the 7396 samples, a total of 6,252 samples have been tested and out of which 296 samples have tested positive.
A total of 3,672 samples have been tested by Truenat also, out of which 44 samples have tested positive and sent for confirmation by RT-PCR. 3,098 samples have tested negative and results of 522 samples are awaited.
A total of 5,879 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.
If anyone develops any signs and symptoms of Cough, Fever or Difficulty in Breathing, he or she may contact the State Helpline Number 1800 345 0019 of the Health & Family Welfare Department.
Please continue to practise frequent hand washing with soap and water or alcohol based sanitizers, follow respiratory etiquettes and social distancing measures.”
COMMUNITY COVID TRAINING HELD AT CHUMUKEDIMA
Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research in collaboration with Chumukedima Circle Task Force on COVID-19 conducted “Community COVID Training” at Chumukedima Town Council Hall on 25th June 2020.
EAC, Chumukedima, Thejavizo Nakro in his keynote address said that though the state is still in stage 2, the training programme for Community leaders was initiated to impart facts and precautionary measures of COVID-19 pandemic keeping in mind the potential of Community spread. He urged the gathering to strictly follow all the safety protocol issued by the government to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Head of Anesthesiology Department, CIHSR, Dr.Adahru Moses in his introduction to COVID explained in detail how COVID spreads. Reminding the gathering not to panic he said that among the positive cases 81% are known to be asymptomatic and 14% moderate and only 5% were known to be severe cases. People above 65 years of age, diabetic, heart problems and immune compromised were known to be vulnerable group. He also briefed the gathering the precautionary measures while taking care of a COVID positive person.
Infection control Department, CIHSR, Theyiesinuo, M Sc, Nurse spoke on information, Education and Communication while Clinical Psychologist, CIHSR, Imlibenla who also chaired the training programme, spoke on Psychological care.
Village Council chairmen, Head GBs, Women leaders and youth leaders from different villages and wards under Chumukedima attended the training programme. Hand washing facilities and hand sanitizers were provided outside the hall for all the trainees while maintaining social distancing as precautionary measure.

DC OFFICE ISSUES FINAL ORDER TO REMOVE STRUCTURE WITHIN DEMARCATED RoW UNDER TSEMINYU KOHIMA
The Office of the Deputy Commissioner Kohima has issued final order to all concerned to remove all standing structure and newly constructed structure within the demarcated RoW of the 2-Lane, Tseminyu Kohima Km 40/000 to Km 72/400 (erstwhile NH-61) within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of issue of this order dated 24th June 2020.
The Order stated that the final order was issued despite the issue of Order No. Rev/NH-1/98, Dated 17th November 2017, there are still some standing structure and newly constructed structures within the demarcated RoW. The order is issued for strict compliance and in default of which, demolition of the same will be carried out without further notice.

Administrator Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), Kovi Meyase has informed all business community within KMC jurisdiction, that the Government of Nagaland, Industries & Commerce Department is undertaking an online “Nagaland Enterprise Survey, 2020 to help Government in formulation of Policies for impacting the growth of enterprises in the State. KOHIMA SMART CITY ROLLS OUT TULIP- THE URBAN LEARNING INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME (MOHUA)
The Urban Learning Internship Programme (TULIP) is a programme launched by the Ministry of Housing & Urban affairs (MoHUA) in collaboration with All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) with the objective of providing a platform to connect fresh graduates with urban government and to expose young graduates to real life learning in urban environment. The program intends to fulfil the twin goal of providing hands-on learning experience to fresh graduates as well as benefitting States, ULBs and smart cities with infusion of fresh energy and ideas to solve critical challenges.
In line with this objective, the Kohima Smart City has rolled out its internship program on the Ministry portal for 8 positions on the 23rd of June’2020. All interested fresh technical graduates may avail the opportunity to get a first hands on experience on Smart City projects and also contribute to the company and the people of Nagaland. The details of the positions, eligibility, terms and conditions and application forms are all available on www.kohimasmartcity.com. NOMINATION FOR NATIONAL AWARD TO TEACHERS 2020
Director School Education, Wonthungo Tsopoe has stated in a release that the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of School Education and Literacy has informed that the web portal for online self nomination by teachers is open and the last date for the same is 6th July 2020. The portal may be accessed through https.//mhrd.gov.in and https://nationalawardtoteachers.mhrd.gov.in.
LAW & ORDER AND FACILITATION SERVICES IN THE STATE AS ON 24th JUNE 2020
The State Emergency Operation Centre COVID-19 Control room Kohima has issued report on Law & Order across the state as on 24th June, 2020. Joint Secretary to the Government of Nagaland, Hiazu Meru stated in the report that, there were three (3) persons violated the orders of Lock down and curfew, meanwhile eight (8) persons bound down.
The report stated that, shops for food grains, groceries, and milk and medicine were opened in all the Districts of Nagaland except Mokokchung. And there was no report of any shortage of food grains, groceries, milk and medicine in the state.
There was no restriction on movement of essential service providers like electricity, telecom facilities, medical facilities etc and personnel/workers in manufacturing units and commercial vehicles for distribution of essential commodities and e-commerce.
It is also reported that, suitable arrangements have been made for providing food & shelter to migrant workers affected by the COVID-19 restrictions. The report also said that, from 1 (one) active relief camps and 1(one) active food camps eighty two (82) daily wagers and needy persons were provided food/dry ration.

DC KOHIMA NOTIFIES ON PAID QCs
Gregory Thejawelie, NCS, Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, has notified and declared JN Hotel under Kohima Municipal Area to be utilized as a Paid Quarantine Centre.
This order shall come into force with immediate effect.
Permit has been granted to the under mentioned Hotels for operation as Paid Quarantine Centres under Kohima Municipal Area, Kohima.

The Paid Quarantine Facility are provided to returnees coming back to Nagaland who are willing to bear their own expenses for food and lodging and will be required to follow mandatory laid down SOPs, advisories & guidelines of the Government.
