Chakhesang Youth Front Silver Jubilee (1995- 2020) was held at Phek Headquarter on 20th Nov. 2020 at Phek Badminton Stadium under the theme “Retrospect & Revive”. Minister for Planning & Co-ordination, Parliamentary Affairs &Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu graced the occasion as the special guest.

Neiba Kronu called upon youths to rise up from all above. He said that road and electricity is an important part of life for which tremendous developments are taking place. He also thanked NGOs for being cooperative. He also stressed on dignity of labour and self-sufficiency through hard work.

MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu also grace the occasion as guest of honour thanked the founding members for their tireless effort. He also harped on work culture and work ethics.

Chakesang Youth Front president in his presidential address said that the journey has been glorious through contribution in the true spirit of the motto “Youth for the Nation”. CYF has made a positive contribution in bringing stability and progress among the youth over the past 25 years and fast potentialities members of CYF for their endless support for keeping this organisation together and bringing it thus far, he further added.

Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Orenthung Lotha flagged off the new NST bus service from Wokha to New Riphyim on 20th November 2020 at Nagaland State Transport office premise Wokha.

Flagging off the new bus the Deputy Commissioner, said through the introduction of new bus service the transportation problem faced by the area people will be reduced to a great extend not only for the citizens of New Riphyim but the entire range people which consists of around six villages.

The DC stated that the Government is providing social service to the people through this new public transport system to ease the problems faced by the people and urged the area people to use the service with a sense of responsibility for long term benefit.

Lotha also thanked the initiative of Dy. Chief Minister, Minister for Home and R&B, Yanthungo Patton and other officials involved for providing the much needed service for the benefit of the people. The DC also particularly thanked the department of NST for helping and providing service during the pandemic in transporting stranded passengers.

Divisional Manager NST, Konia, Visio Yepthomi who also spoke during the programme, said the district has achieved another development by adding one more new bus service, where he urged the area public to take proper care of the vehicle and use it judiciously also appealed to look in to the welfare of the drivers and conductors manning the vehicle. He further called upon all to extend co-operation to the department so that the department can also give back the service required by the people.

The village authorities on behalf of the citizens of New Riphyim and Old Riphyim especially thanked Dy. Chief Minister Y. Patton, Transport Minister Paiwang Konyak and General Manager Nagaland State Transport for providing the 32 sitter bus and fulfilling the much needed service to people.

The Nagaland State Transport department is introducing the new 32 sitter bus service from Wokha to New Riphyim for the convenience of travellers with affordable means of transportation. The new route will cover a distance of 22 KM and operate with service NO.519 Up from Wokha and service NO.520 Down from New Riphyim. The service will commence from 20th November 2020.

Divisional Manager NST, Kohima, Yepthomi also informed that 50% of the sitting capacity will only be allotted/ used keeping in view of the pandemic crisis at the same time the fare rate is also at fixed @ Rs. 60/- but the fare will be reduced to 40 rupees during normal times. The bus will ply on daily basis two trips per day.

Rev. Abemo Jungio Pastor, Wokha Town Baptist Church, offered the dedicatory prayer for the new bus.

ADC & Administrator, Wokha Town Council (WTC), K. Mhathung Tsanglao, hereby informs all shops and business establishments, restaurants and hotels under Wokha Town Council that it is mandatory to make available hand washing facility or keeps hand sanitizer for use by customers and the shop keepers/ salesman/ waiters with effect from 23rd November 2020.

Non compliance shall result in First offence penalty of Rs. 500/- (Five hundred and warning. Offence after One (1) week of 1st offence shall result in sealing of the establishment with or without suspension of registration/ License wherever applicable, till facilities are provided.

This is for strict compliance of all shops and business establishments, restaurants and hotels under Wokha town Council.

In pursuance of the Government’s Notification vide No. AHV/NPVCP/59/2019/1424 Dated, Kohima the 15th September 2020 and in partial modification of this office Notification of even number dated the 30th April 2020,in regards to the ban on import of pigs from outside the state due to outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF). It is hereby notified that ban on import of healthy and certified pigs from Punjab & Haryana except Assam, Arunachal and states having cases of ASF is partially lifted with immediate effect.The following SOPs laid down for license holders/ transporters vide Govt.of Assam letter No.VFV269/2020/60 indicated below should be strictly adhered to :-

1.      (a) The transit animals are not disembarked in any place for any purpose within Assam. (b) The vehicles do not have any stop over point within Assam unless it is of utmost necessity. (c) No animal waste or animal carcass is thrown out of the vehicles of the transit route. (d) Transit vehicles travelling through infected areas of ASF are to be disinfected at the exit points of the infected zone and the exit of the surveillance zone and the disinfection related cost have to be borne by the transporters or the supplier.

2.      Violation of the above mentioned SOPs shall lead to confiscation of the animals with fines as determined by the confiscating authority.

3.      Record of each animal, animal transporter with license number and vehicle number, name of the consignee is to be kept at each inter-district check posts and will be forwarded to the Directorate of A.H & Veterinary Department Assam.

4.      The transporters/License holders should report to the respective CVOs with details.
Further it is reiterated to ensure all safety measures and cleanliness in the market/public places as specified earlier.

District Advisory Committee on youth development under Nehru Yuva Kendra held a meeting at DC Conference Hall on 20thNovember 2020. The meeting was chaired Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant IAS.

The meeting was attended by District administration headed by DC, Principal Sao Chang Government College & Polytechnic Sedem, Vice Principal ITI, Youth resource Dept, Lead Bank Manager, ECS, Nodal Officer for NSS, NCC  and Bharat Scouts &  Guides, NYC, representatives of Apex Students’ Unions.

Kishor Verma District Youth Coordinator NYK Tuensang highlighted the brief account of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, its Objectives, Vision and Profiles. He also highlighted all the details of programme.

DC Tuensang encouraged all the stakeholders to focus on the youths specially the rural youths since India is a young country and such programmes are important for the younger generation of the state. He also encouraged the NYKS Tuensang to be proactive in collaboration with Tribal students’ Unions and other such agencies for implementations of the project plans.

Discussions were also held on skills programmes for youth and balancing of gender differences in formation of clubs and participations.
