RASHTRIYA POSHAN ABHIYAN LAUNCHED AT LONGLENG
Launching program of Rashtriya Poshan Maah Rally was held at DC office complex on 13th September 2019 with Deputy Commissioner & Chairman District Convergence Action Plan Committee, M. Shayung Phom as the special guest.
Speaking to the gathering, Shayung Phom informed that the RPA is a massive movement in the country to do away with malnutrition problems of the people. Asserting that the Government is giving special importance to the health of both mother and children, the DC appealed to the womenfolk of the district to give a positive response to the call of the Government with active participation and avail the opportunity with optimism.
Shayung also urged the gathering not to be a silent spectator on such occasion but to understand the real purpose of the Government’s policies & program and take the advantage provided by the Government successfully. He informed that all the Government programs of the district would be carried out positively in line with the rest of the districts in all activities. He further urged the line departments involved to have good coordination for successful implementation of the scheme and wish them success in their venture.
Speaking on health and nutrition, Dr. Wannau, Junior Specialist, District Hospital Longleng spoke on anemia, macro & micro nutrition and sources of nutrition for healthy living. He also spoke on change and development of human body during adolescent period, and its emotional effects in the later life. He also urged for timely immunization of children.
Earlier, Y. Tauhong Ngongen, CDPO Longleng delivered the keynote address while Afen, District Coordinator PMMVY chaired the program. The program concluded with Poshan Pledge and flag off by the Deputy Commissioner followed by Poshan maah rally from DC office to lempong junction.
The program was attended by government officers, NGOs, ward leaders, students and teachers.
POSHAN MAAH RALLY AT JALUKE
As part of the national nutrition mission, Poshan Maah Cycle Rally was flagged off at Jalukie under Peren District on 13th September 2019.
The programme was organised by Department of Social Welfare Peren District. The Poshan Maah cycle rally was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner Peren, Santiwapang Aier where he briefed on the flagship programme which was initiated by Prime Minister of India to promote nutrition and health for growth and development of the children.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by DPO/DWO Peren, Nokcharenla Longchar; ADC Jalukie, Dr. Tinujongshi Chang delivered the welcome address. Poshan Maah rally pledge was read out by Anganwadi workers Jalukie, ICDS Project. On the occasion, 30 cyclists participated in the rally. The programme concluded with vote of thanks delivered by CDPO, Watila.

SEMINAR ON POSHAN MAAH HELD IN DIMAPUR
Poshan seminar was held at CDPO Rural Office on 12th September 2019 as part of ongoing Poshan Maah celebration. It was organised by Social Welfare and School Education Department. Topics were Poshan Abhiyan, ICDS services, Right to Education and Mid-day meal. Participants were students from St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Chumukedima.

AWARENESS CAMP FOR ADOLESCENT GIRLS HELD IN DIMAPUR
Awareness Camp for adolescent girls was held at GMS 5th Mile Model Village on 13th September 2019. It was organised by CDPO Rural Office in Convergence on Poshan Maah month.
MO, Dr. Narola Toska explained on anaemia awareness, girl’s hygiene and good nutrition. Free sanitary pads and iron folic tablets were distributed.

INTERACTION PROGRAMME TO DISCUSS CLASS VIII EXAMINATION
Chairman of Nagaland Board of School Education, Asano Sekhose, in a circular, stated that NBSE has been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the Class VIII Final Examination for the Government Schools from the academic session 2019 vide Government of Nagaland Notification No. EDS/NBSE/EX-BOARD/15-12/2016/102-11 dated 5th February 2019.
In this regard, the Board will be conducting an interaction programme with the Heads of Government institutions to discuss issues relating to the conduct of Class VIII Examination 2019.

The Heads of Government institutions have been requested to attend the meeting positively. The Heads of Centre Schools are also requested to inform the head teacher of the feeding Government Middle Schools under their centre to attend the meeting without fail.
The Heads of institutions are further directed to attend the meeting in person and not to depute anyone in their place.
