BRIEFING ON COVID-19 ON 11th OF AUGUST 2020 FOR NAGALAND BY PRINCIPAL SECRETARY, HOME
The full text is as follows:
“A total of 20 COVID-19 positive cases have been detected today and the total number of positive cases in the State now stands at 3,031. The positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and COVID-19 Care Centres. Further, active surveillance and contact tracing is also in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection.
Out of the 3,031 positive cases, the total active cases are 2,032 and there are 7 deaths. As per the severity of symptoms, 2,029 active cases are asymptomatic 1 active case is mild and 2 active cases are moderate.
Further, out of the 3,031 positive cases, the distribution across various categories of people are 1,385 cases of Armed Forces, 1,096 cases of Returnees, 200 cases of Frontline Workers, 296 cases of Traced Contacts and 54 cases of Others.
A total of 29,466 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 27,759 samples have been received. In addition, a total of 19,347 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat.
A total of 1,984 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.”
LONGLENG TO CONDUCT MASS SOCIAL WORK
In view of the upcoming 73rd Independence Day celebration 2020, a mass social work has been scheduled on 13th August 2020 from 06:00 Am onwards. In this regard, the work distribution for the Departments and Ward’s under Longleng HQ has been notified, so all citizens of Longleng have been directed to participate in the mass social work positively.
Further, the government officers, ward’s presidents, educational institutional, business establishments, NGOs and Civil societies have also directed to monitor and supervise in their respective jurisdiction for smooth conduct and mass participations during the social work.

HIGHER EDUCATION DEPT NOTIFIES ON ONLINE APPLICATION
Director Higher Education, Er. Arjun Singh has informed that online application are being invited from candidates all over India for admission to various Under-Graduate Programmes against Higher Fee Category at various constituent colleges of Central Agricultural University, Imphal for the academic session 2020-21.

The Nagaland Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Kohima has regretted to inform that the Commission will not be able to hold Public Hearing on the Tariff Petition for the proposed 20 MW Solar Power Project at Jalukie, Peren as published earlier by the Project Developer i.e. M/s. Halo Energies Pvt. Ltd, Hyderabad on 1st and 2nd August, 2020 in 3 local daily English Newspapers due to various restrictions on the public movements/gathering by the State Government in view of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Therefore, all the interested stakeholders in the State have been requested to submit their views & comments in writing, if any, on the tariff petition to the Secretary, Nagaland Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Kohima, W.Y. Yanthan latest by 20th August, 2020 either through Registered Post or by email to firstname.lastname@example.orgemail@example.com.

SCERT, Nagaland will be inaugurating the SCERT Training Annexe Building, Commissioning the Edu Sat & Studio followed by Release and Screening of 3 Short Films on Naga Values and Motifs on 19th of August 2020 at 10:00 AM at SCERT Training Annexe Building, Below High School Ground, Kohima.

Addl. Deputy Commissioner Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, has notified that in view of the detection ofaCOVID-19 positive person residing at the following locations viz. Upper AG Colony, Ward No. 15, Upper Agri. Colony, Ward No. 17, Merhulietsa (Para Medical) Colony, Ward No. 18 and Officer’s Hill Colony, Ward No. 1, the areas defined below are demarcated as SEALED AREA in order to contain the spread of the disease/infection and for necessary contact tracing.
All movement of person/vehicles within the defined Sealed Area is strictly restricted/prohibited and under active surveillance with immediate effect.
