Phek District Inter Departmental Tournament Culminates

The Phek District Inter Departmental Tournament Culminated on 5th October 2019. The four-day event was held at Badminton Stadium Phek town organized by Officers’ Club Phek in collaboration with Evening Smashers Phek & Phek District Badminton Association. The Closing Programme was held at Badminton Stadium Phek town on 5th October 2019.

The Programme was chaired by SDO(C) Phek, Zhoi Lohe. Major Arpit, 22 AR Phek speaking on the occasion as Special Guest appreciated the organizing committee for organizing the Inter Departmental Tournament and stressed upon the importance of sports especially to the younger generations, since a sound mind and physical wellbeing can achieve through sports, he added. Closing Remarks was given by Shiekhozo Asst. Controller, LM & CP, Phek followed with Closing Prayer by Nusakho Chiero Associate Pastor, PTBC.

Altogether 358 participants partake in the disciplines, Badminton, Arm Wrestling, Carom and Chess.

In the badminton Men Doubles Keyirangding Hegui & Vevosa Khamo (Rural Development) came first followed by Solo Lorin & Dr. Nutazo Lohe (Higher Education) as runners up. In Women Doubles, Nuvetalu Thira & Khosalu Keyho (Health & Family Welfare) and I.Asangla & Kewetsho-u Mero (District Jail) came first and second.

Nuzato Ruho (5th NAP Bn.) emerged as winner in Chess (Open Category) runners up went to  Wekhrope mero (Health & Family Welfare) and Zachivo Chizo(District administration).

In Arm Wrestling (Men) Diethozo Koza(Forest) and Kuthoseyi Chizo (5th NAP Bn.) won first and second respectively.

In Arm Wrestling (Women) Neiphreno Nienu (Health & Family Welfare) and Neitshote-u Ritse (Health & Family Welfare) came first and second respectively.

In Carrom (Men Doubles) Martho Thur & Nukhohu Lohe  (Health & Family Welfare) and Vephuta Nienu & Hudi Nusory (Agriculture) won first and second respectively.

In Carroom (Women Doubles) Zhovelu & Kethoselu Nienu (DEF) and Esther Natso & hekali Sumi (PWD NH) came first and second.

In Badminton (Mixed Doubles) Setichem Sangtam & Cizokholu Rhakho (5th NAP Bn.) and Solo Lorin & Vevotalu vero(Higher Education) won First and second respectively.

Health & Family Welfare Department emerged as Overall Group Champion and 5th NAP Bn. Came Second.

WOKHA TO OBSERVE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD ON 11TH Oct 2019
Women welfare Officer, DLCW, Dr.Wonchano E. Enny informed that the District Administration in collaboration with Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) and Sakhi-One Stop Centre Wokha, under the banner of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) will be observing the International Day of the Girl Child, to promote fulfillment of Girl’s empowerment for this significant event on 11th October 2019 at 11:00 at Town hall Wokha.
In this regard, all Private, Government Schools and colleges to nominate 40 students’ from class 8 and above from each respective schools and colleges to attend the function.

THUNEOTULA CROWNED MISS YIMCHUNGRÜ 2019

During the  3rd edition of Miss Yimchungrü 2019, Thuneotula was crowned Miss Yimchungrü 2019, organised by Yimchungrü Akheru Arihako in association with Emporium Training and Consultancy Pvt.Ltd as knowledge partner, under the theme ” Be Bold, Be Beautiful, Be Inspired. The 1st runner up was bagged by Nongrila Yimchunger, while Rejoila walked away with the 2nd runner up position. The event was held on 8th October 2019 at Town Hall Dimapur, where 14 contestants participated in the competition.

Advisor IPR, SCERT & VG, Government of Nagaland, Toshi Wungtung, who graced the event as the special guest, described beauty as a concept which is both inward and outward. “To be beautiful is to be bold, beautiful and inspiring and to be an exemplary role model,” he stated. He further said that, beauty comes as an overall package comprising of intellect and a healthy mind and felt that a model must be a figure showcasing discipline, kindness, cheerfulness, generosity, patience, gentleness and above all be strong and bold. He further mentioned that life is a process of storytelling and advised all the contestants to make their lives good story telling books.

The jury of judges were Temjenkala Aier, Center Director, Emporium Training Institute Dimapur, Diochongia Buchem and Alen Phom.

Other highlights of the programme included renditions by Illusion Crew, Chimrila, Akamkhiung, Niutoba Yim, Nchumbeni Tsula, Akhumba. Kings of Naga, Kirito c, Boys in Hood also performed during the show.
