BRIEFING ON COVID-19 ON 3rd OF AUGUST 2020 FOR NAGALAND BY PRINCIPAL SECRETARY, HOME
The full text is as follows:
“The total number of positive cases in the State as on today stands at 2,129. The positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and COVID-19 Care Centres. Active surveillance and contact tracing is also in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection.
Out of the 2,129 positive cases, the total active cases are 1,464 and there are 4 deaths. As per the severity of symptoms, 1,462 active cases are asymptomatic, 1 active case is mild and 1 active case is with oxygen.
Till date, a total of 25,738 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 23,615 samples have been received. Out of the 16,819 samples received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), a total of 15,857 samples have been tested and 1,416 samples have tested positive. In addition, a total of 16,932 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and 510 samples have tested positive which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.
A total of 2,366 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.”
DIRECTORATE OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION INFORMS
Declaration of provisionally selected candidates for undergoing 3 years Diploma courses in the state run Polytechnics has been declared. Selected candidates have been informed to submit their acceptance/refusal letter to the Directorate of Technical Education on or before 14th August, 2020 (http://www.dtenagaland.org.in). In the event of any candidate fails to submit his/her acceptance letter, their selection shall stand cancelled.
Candidates who did not make into the selection list may re-apply for Diploma seats in prescribe application forms. Such applications shall be considered in the event of any vacancy arises as per their Merit. Nomination letter shall be issued w.e.f 24th August, 2020.
DC TUENSANG ORDERS ON INTER DISTRICT MOVEMENT
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tuensang, Kumar Ramnikant IAS has issued orders as decided in the Tuensang District Task Force (DTF) meeting on COVID – 19 held on 28th July 2020 to monitor inter District movement of vehicles /people into Tuensang district in view of potential local /community transmission of COVID-19, the following Standard Operating procedures (SOP) for inter District travel are hereby notified with immediate effect:
- All travels from /to Tuensang district which are not of urgent nature are hereby restricted until further notice.
- Any unavoidable travels which are of urgent nature such a medical emergencies, funerals etc shall be undertaken only with the prior approval of the Tuensang DTF on COVID-19.
- For Government officials travelling to Tuensang district on duty, the Hods concerned are to inform the DTF 24 hours prior to undertaking any such travels.
- All travels (apart from Government servants on duty) to Tuensang district shall be allowed to enter the District only the production of valid travel permit issued by competent authority of the origin district.
- All details of the travelers are to be enter at the Inter district check gate before entering the District.
- All Government servants /agencies from outside the State entering the district on duty shall be allowed to proceed on duty only after mandatory COVID-19 testing and on negative result for COVID-19.
- All travelers to the District (apart from Government servant on duty) shall be under mandatory home quarantine for 14 days.

DC MON INFORMS ON TRUCK MOVEMENT
Deputy commissioner Mon, Thavaseelan K, IAS has stated that all trucks coming from Assam carrying essential commodities will be permitted to enter Mon District only on Wednesday and Friday i.e 5th & 7th of August 2020. The samples of the drivers and handymen will be collected for RT-PCR Testing at Tizit before proceeding to Mon. Any persons found violating this order will be penalised under provisions of the law.
COVID-19 AWARENESS PROGRAMME AT MON
On account of the COVID-19 pandemic across the globe, PHED Mon division has organised an awareness programme at PHED Store, Mon division on 3rd August 2020. The programme was sponsored by sanitation and WSSO, (PHED) Kohima.
A short speech was delivered by Medoseto Kiso (IEC Consultant) Mon said that the importance of personal hygiene and sanitation, physical distancing, proper use of face mask, regular hand washing with soap and use of hand sanitizers and was followed a poster campaign in an around Mon Town.
CMO OFFICE AND PWD COLONY WOKHA SEALED
Chief Medical Officer Office (CMO), Wokha, and one particular house under PWD Colony (GB.H/NO.66) Wokha are being SEALED with immediate effect till further order.
Deputy Commissioner & Chairman District Task Force for COVID-19, Orenthung Lotha, in exercise of the power conferred under Section 30 (1), (2) of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and in order to take effective measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, in the district, the above order was decided during its emergency meeting held on 3rd August 2020, in view of the detection of one positive COVID-19 a staff of CMO Office Wokha which is a resident of PWD Colony, Wokha, and as per the guideline on prevention measures to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Deputy Commissioner & Chairman District Task Force for COVID-19 for Wokha order temporary sealing of the CMO office and PWD colony for 72 hours following all healthy measures and SOP’s of the Government till further order.
