The full text is as follows:

“The total number of positive cases in the State as on today stands at 1,831. The positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated COVID-19 Hospitals and COVID-19 Care Centres. Active surveillance and contact tracing is also in progress to prevent further spreading of the infection.

Out of the 1,831 positive cases, the total active cases are 1,183 and there are 4 deaths. As per the severity of symptoms, 1,181 active cases are asymptomatic, 1 active case is mild and 1 active case is with oxygen.

Till date, a total of 24,917 samples have been sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 22,436 samples have been received. Out of the 16,307 samples received at the BSL-3 lab at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK), a total of 15,137 samples have been tested and 1,264 samples have tested positive. In addition, a total of 16,512 samples have been sent for testing on Truenat and 498 samples have tested positive which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.

A total of 2,375 persons are presently under Facility Quarantine.”




DC Peren, Sentiwapang Aier has informed to all the concerned members that there will be a District Task Force Meeting on 3rd August, 2020 in the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner Peren Hq. at 12:00 Noon to discuss matters related to COVID-19.

All members have been requested to attend the meeting positively.

Administrator Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) Kovi Meyase has notified that in pursuance of the Notification No. DCK/CON/COVID-19/2020/Pt/369, Dated the, 31st July 2020 issued by the Deputy Commissioner & Chairman DTF, Kohima  the following number of shops shall be allowed to open against each wards listed below, subject to:

  • Strict adherence to all precautionary measures as mentioned in the SOP on use of masks, hand sanitisers, gloves and social distancing protocols;
  • Strict adherence to directives of the ward authorities on the timings for opening & closure of shops;
  • Strict adherence to rates of essential commodities as notified by the Kohima Municipal Council

These grocery shops have been listed after due consultations with the ward authorities keeping in mind the need for facilitating the public while also being mindful of the health protocols during the Lockdown period. It is therefore reiterated that no other shops shall be allowed to open till further orders except those listed. Grocery shops whose stocks need replenishments will inform their respective ward authorities for further needful action by the Kohima Municipal Council for which purpose, the Chief Inspector, KMC maybe contacted on this Mobile no – 94360-01900.
